Below is a cross section of comments that we have received from past guests at Awd Tuts Cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed our few days break at 'Awd Tuts' - wish it could have been longer. This beautiful cottage is well maintained and cared for. The double bed is very comfortable and the bed linen immaculately clean. Tea, coffee, sugar milk were provided which was much appreciated as was the courtesy call from Mike to check everything was OK. Sky tv, jacuzzi bath, ensuite shower room thoughtful touches like providing wet weather coats, umbrella and the tea, coffee etc show that Mike Louise have gone the extra mile to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. Excellent location just off Church St. in the heart of old Whitby with the shops at one end of New Way Ghaut and the small harbour beach at the other. We have no hesitation in recommending 'Awd Tuts' because we are already looking forward to a time when we can visit again. Josie Trevor Harrison (Wakefield). We has a truly lovely time staying in 'Awd Tuts' in March. Phil read the Dracula book, I immersed myself in the family history folder, and we both spent a lot of time in pubs and fish and chip establishments. Thankyou for making our stay such a joy. Carolyn and Phil King. We stayed for a weekend in March. The cottage was quaint and full of the character of Whitby. Ideal location for browsing around the shops and the pubs, especially the Duke of York. The cottage was clean comfortable with all the amenities we required. It's history is fascinating, we even bought a Suttcliffe photograph of the previous owners, the Drysden family. Great cottage, great location just like a home from home really, everything we needed was there. Simple booking form online deposit by fast cash straight to the owners was bril and really easy. Beautiful clean cottage. Great atmosphere. SKY TV was a bonus. Would use cottage again. Liked the area very much. This is one of the qaintest cottages we have stayed in, in the UK. The cottage history was very interesting indeed. Being so close to the sea and the harbour was a bonus. As the cottage is in the centre of the old town there really isn't far to walk for any amenity whatsoever. Happy New Year to you. Pete and Jane Reynolds. We stayed in the cottage at the end of November and found it to be absolutely enchanting. We imagined all the people who had lived there in the last 300 years and the cottage is still going strong now. We would stay again if we visit North Yorkshire. To be honest, we do not see the point of phoning around for other cottages when this one has proved to be exceptional. To the owners: thank you for letting us stay there. We thought the cottage was lovely and will definitely be back. Hello, Thanks for all... Was a very nice and lovely stay in our cottage. We loved it very much. Interessting was the story about the house. Hope to see Whitby again. Greetings from Germany Nicole Ritscher family. What a wonderful haven amid the busy Whitby streets, the cottage was lovely and the location brilliant,we loved the history of the place and all the little touches that made such a difference, we will certainly will be back. The White Horse and Griffin is a fabulous restaurant and made our weekend even more special. Cathy and Stephen Cullen. Dear Mike and Louise, already thinking about our next stay in Awd Tuts. The accommodation was first class; the beds and bathrooms excellent - after demanding but enjoyable walks it was luxury to relax in the jaccuzi. The kitchen was very well equipped - it would have taken more than a week to use all that was provided. One memory we will revisit is a gourmet meal in the old coaching inn (something and Griffin) in Church Street, a walk up the 199 Steps, and having the Abbey and grounds all to ourselves in full moonlight. Fantastic. John Sylvia Dennett. We have just arrived back from a 4 night stay at Awd Tut (mid October). The cottage was very clean cosy and the decor was excellent with everything you could need to keep two boys of 3 yrs happy. The location was perfect, they thought their own private beach was just cool, just a stones throw away, you could even hear the sound of the waves lapping when sat in the living area, very calming. The Jacuzzi bath was a bonus it kept Tom Sam amused for ages. Thanks for everything. Paula, Steven, Samual thomas. We very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage last weekend (end of September) and although it was a bit tricky to find the correct street in the dark, the location turned out to be perfect to explore all Whitby had to offer. The cottage was lovely, spotless, full of mod-cons and very relaxing. Whitby was a great place to visit to get away from it all - walking along the beach, admiring the views and watching the world go by. I would definitely recommend Awd Tuts to anyone thinking of visiting Whitby or the surrounding areas. Well we have just arrived home after our wonderfull stay at this 4 story home, and it really was home from home,we enjoyed every bit of our stay in whitby, the location was just perfect, I enjoyed the jet shooting jaquzzi bath every day.the price for our 4 night stay was very good. We have never been to whitby before and found it quite hard to find, but once inside coffee was awaiting us and the view from the master bedroom, was truly relaxing, we were suprised and delighted to see the master bedroom also was on-suit.Thankyou for letting us stay at you lovely house. I haven't been to the cottage but would just like to say I like the seagull sounds when the first page of your website opens up. It's a little different but it does signify Whitby. We stayed in the cottage in early September. It is right in the heart of the old part of Whitby, near to everything. The family liked the location only yards from the beach and harbour. If you like old quaint cottages, then this one is a must!. We would stay again.
