According to the records of Toledo's Property Registry, this building was first inscribed in the year 1889 to be used as a sword factory. In 1918 it housed the San Jose flour mill, and in 1972 it was gutted down to the foundations to build the current basements and renovate all the machinery of the flour mill which continued to operate until the end of June 1996. Its marked industrial style is in line with most of the buildings of this type from the late 19th century, and architecturally, it is classified a Neo-Mudejar style building.
