My husband and I came to Puerto Rico for the first time in 1996 and fell in love with Puerto Rico and Numero Uno. Not only did we find Caribbean's secret place, we also found what we now call our second home. Big writers discovered the place, we came back this year to stay and it has renovated into a total oasis. Unfortunately, my husband and I cannot really afford their new prices now, but we still go anyway because of the same reasons others have said about Numero Uno. The balcony overlooking the ocean is a place you can sit and watch for hours, the service is excellent, the atmosphere day or night is truly romantic and the rooms really make you feel at home. We've stayed at first class hotels but have not found a guesthouse that offers twice daily maid service! (They folded our clothes piled up on our bed.) Now that's what you call vacation! The whole place is so clean, you could eat off the floor and there is the best balcony to sit and look at the ocean for hours. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Mix ahead of time all the above ingredients, except the shrimp, tomatoes and jerk seasoning. Season the shrimp with salt, white pepper, and Jamaican jerk seasonings.
