Our breakfast is a good beginning. At Danhostel Odense City we serve an outstanding breakfast buffet every morning from 07.30 - 09.00, Saturday and Sunday until 09.30. At the buffet you will find: min.3 different kinds of bread. 3 kinds of homemade marmelade. 2 kinds of sliced meat. The price is only Dkr. 59, and included in the mentioned prices. You have the possibility to make your own packet lunch from the buffet for only Dkr. 35,- per person or buy a lunchbag for Dkr. 50,- in the Caf. By cancellation and alterations later than 6 weeks before arrival, you will be charged compensation according to normal rates in this line of business (please, see below). By cancellation later than 6 weeks before arrival, 50% of the amount above will be charged. By cancellation later than 3 weeks before arrival, 75% of the amount above will be charged. Regarding goups, minimum one leader must have a national Group Leader Membership Card from their own country, or a Hostelling International Goup Membership Card. If you do not have a national Group Leader Membership Card, we will issue one when you arrive at the hostel. The price is DKK 200 and the card is valid for 1 year. Keys are jointly handed over to the leader on arrival, together with a roominglist and the number of persons to be accommondated in each room. Check out time is 10.00 and the leader collect the keys and deliver them to reception. Prices are including final cleaning, however we expect the rooms to be left like they where found. Rented sheets must be brought back to the reception before departure. We must point out, that all our rooms are non-smoking rooms. Smoking is allowed in most public areas. If you have any special requests regarding food, i.e. vegetarian, diabetic, diet or similar, this is no problem, as long as we are advised in advance. Odense Danhostel Kragsbjerggrden are fully licenced, and sell beer and wine at reasonable prices. Guests cannot drink their own drinks. Particularly we draw your attention to that consumption of beers, wine and alcohol, brought along, is not permitted on the hostel premises or grounds. There are lots of things to see just outside our front door. Next door in the Odense Train Station you will find cinemas, cafes, shops and restaurants. H.C Andersens House / Odense Cathedral. The Railway Museum, Funen Art Museum and the pedestrian area with shops, cafes and restaurants is only 5 minutes away. Within 10 minutes you will reach the public swimming pool, Hans Christian Andersens House, Brandts Kldefabrik og Odense cathedral. Odense has 3 good golfcourses, all within 15 min. by car from Danhostel Odense City. For further information here. All parts of the island Funen can be reached by public transportation within 1 hour by train or coach. There is only 1/2 hour by car to: Bogense, Kerteminde eller Egeskov Castle. There are no free parking in Odense during daytime, but after 1800 there are several. The closest parking to Danhostel Odense City is just across the road behind the newspaper building with the big screen. Drive through the gate and you can park free from 1800 in the evening until 0900 in the morning.

Here you also find cinemas, shops og cafes. Transportation to and from the hostel is simple. Whether your destination is local or other national, there are good connections 24 hours a day. To and from Judland and Sealand there are train connections every 30 minutes. Travel time to Copenhagen: 1 hour og 30 minutes. Travel time to Aarhus: 1 hour and 30 minutes. When you arrive at Odense Train Station, walk out the main entrance and turn right: You will find the hostel at the end of the building (100 m). The fine red brick building, which today is Danhostel Odense City, was once one of the leading hotels in Odense. It was opened in the year 1867 and named Larsens Hotel, after the owner. Situated at the new Railway Station, it was the place where the rich and famous as well as the businessmen stayed when they visited Odense. The reception - Park Hotel. Later the name was changed to the more international sounding Park Hotel, because of the beautiful view to the park at Odense Castle. The view is still there and the atmosphere have become international! During the years the hotel had several royal guests as well as famous actors performing at the nearby Odense Theatre.
