Practical Information. The hotel has been restored at regular intervals and today has 96 modern rooms, bar, restaurant and conference wing. The 96 rooms all have private bathroom and toilet. Almost all of the rooms have under-floor heating, hairdryer and trouser press, as well as telephone, radio and colour TV with 12 free channels and the option of connecting up your own PC or laptop. We provide free wireless Internet access throughout the hotel. Out international restaurant has seating for 80 guests and features a magnificent panoramic view of our large park and grounds. The restaurant is open every day throughout the year. Hotel Scheelsminde is ideal for meetings, courses and conferences and has facilities for from 10 to 100 participants, 5 seminar rooms and a complete range of AV equipment – always tested and fully operational. Our wellness centre, Oasen, has a swimming pool with heated pool, sauna, solarium, and Jacuzzi. There is also a self-service bar with beer, soft drinks and wine available at favourable prices. Among the hotel’s unique and atmospheric facilities is a special H.C. Andersen room and an English-type library/lounge, whilst outdoor facilities include a large terrace, park and petanque “piste”.

In 1960 Hugo Jensen and his wife Aloisia began running Scheelsminde, which quickly became one of the country’s renowned places to eat. However, today it is a new generation of the same family that is running Scheelsminde with the same spirit and respect for the culinary delights that Hugo Jensen possessed in such abundant quantities and provided for the many guests that have experienced Scheelsminde over the years. Today the young generation still has – in spite of the rapid pace of development within the gastronomic world – a desire to be able to offer a subtle and nourishing meal for all the senses based on classical dishes. We still believe that there is a place for classical cuisine based on honesty and affection for Danish ingredients and spiced with professional development and skill.
