Day 2: Thorsmork: the Hidden Glacier Valley Today you will be picked up in a luxury super jeep for a full-day private excursion, taking in some of the best-known phenomena on Iceland’s South Coast. We take you to the Hverageroi geothermal area and then to the graceful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where the sure-footed can walk behind a cascade. From Seljalandsfoss we continue to Gigjokull glacier, which is on an incredible glacial lagoon, before crossing difficult un-bridged glacial rivers and rough tracks in order to reach the beautiful Thorsmork valley. Thorsmork is a flowering valley sheltered by a large glacier surrounding it. For those who are interested, this is an ideal place for hiking. Day 3: Vatnajokull: Europe’s Largest Glacier The day starts by taking a flight to the charming town of Hofn. At Hofn, our glacier experts await you, ready to escort you in a modified 4x4 to the Vatnajokull glacier, Europe’s largest icecap. At the great Vatnajokull, you will experience a true glacier adventure and blaze around on a snowmobile. We then will visit the picturesque Jokulsarlon with its shimmering icebergs and take a boat
trip through the icy maze, conditions permitting, before heading back to Reykjavik. Day 4: Art, Culture and Geysers under the Midnight Sun The morning is open for you to enjoy at your own leisure. At 13:00 you’ll be met by our art and culture expert who will take you on a culture walk around town. Our guide has an extensive knowledge of the culture and life of the city
centre and will guide you to unusual and original places, where you can see, feel and taste what makes Reykjavik tick. You’ll be taken to the 101 gallery and the most interesting art museums and exhibitions, and explore the surprisingly rich art life Reykjavik has to offer. The itinerary for the day will vary, according to the exhibitions being shown at local galleries and museums. In the late afternoon, we’ll then take you on an amazing midnight sun
tour taking in some of the best-known nature sites in Iceland. Attractions visited will include Þingvellir National Park, the Gullfoss waterfall, and the great Geysir. These places can be quite crowded during the daytime so an evening
tour is ideal to enjoy the true magic of these beautiful sites. We will stop at the charming Hotel Valholl with its amazing location, for a gourmet
dinner. We will return to the hotel around midnight. Please note: The optimal season for the Midnight Sun is from 20.05 – 20.07. If the package is booked for May or August we will change the package details accordingly. Day 5: The Wonders of Snafellsnes Peninsula Today we’ll take you on a full-day drive to the Snafellsnes Peninsula. This amazing peninsula is the perfect location for nature lovers, with its amazing birdlife, lush valleys and lava fields. We will take you to Stykkisholmur, a lovely seaside village and from there we’ll take you on a private cruise to explore the natural paradise of Breioafjorour fjord, where we’ll observe a fantastic variety of birdlife, including puffins, eider ducks, kittiwakes, fulmars and the white-tailed eagle. We’ll sail through tidal currents, see some very strangely shaped cliffs and enjoy the exhilarating peacefulness of entering a world of wildlife, thriving in its own natural environment. A high point of the
trip will be casting out a small net-plough and dragging the seabed for some shellfish delicacies. Here you’ll have the chance to taste shellfish and sea urchin roe that just don’t get any fresher. If you are interested, you’ll have the opportunity to go deep sea fishing here. From Stykkisholmur we continue to Snafellsnes glacier which is believed by many to be one of Earth’s seven major energy
centres, and was the backdrop to Jules Verne’s famous novel Journey to the
Centre of the Earth. If you are interested, we can have an early
dinner at Hotel Buoir or continue to explore the many wonders of this delightful peninsula. Day 6: The Pearls of the North Fly from Reykjavik to Akureyri, where a day of spectacular sights awaits you. Your personal guide will take you to Lake Myvatn, where you will see wonders such as the Dimmuborgir lava maze and the Skutustaoagigar pseudocraters. You will have the opportunity to bathe in the amazing Nature
Bath by Lake Myvatn before heading back to Reykjavik. Day 7: Departure with a Twist After checking out of the hotel, your driver will take you on a last
trip before leaving Iceland. Explore the bubbling mud pots of the geologically active Reykjanes Peninsula and visit the Grindavik Saltfish Museum before visiting the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal seawater

office block on a busy corner of downtown Reykjavik, next to the Opera House and the House of Culture. A member of Design Hotels International, the hotel takes its name from the city
centre postal code 101. Housed in the former headquarters of the Social Democratic
Party, built in the 1930's in early modernist style. The exterior has now been fully restored to its original look. The high class hotel in Reykjavik is the work of Ingibjorg Palmadottir, a graduate from Parsons school of Design in NY in interior design. She is also the owner of 101 hotel. This hip and funky hotel in Reykjavik Iceland has a minimalist design with a monochromatic palette of volcanic black and greys, reflecting Iceland's landscape. But coldness is avoided by the use of warm American oak flooring stretching across the building's entire expanse. The modern hotel prides itself in its art collection which holds many of the leading contemporary artists in Iceland (refer to w w w.101hotel.is ). Furthermore since June 2004 101 gallery opened, which is a contemporary art space close to the hotel. 101 gallery plans to exhibit international contemporary art. The
38 rooms are all light and airy, with
bedrooms flowing into the
bathrooms rather than being separated with a wall.
Guestrooms where furnished with the minimum necessary items; a large bed, comfortable chairs, working
desk and lot of empty space. They were also fitted with the latest technology such as floor
heating, large
screen television sets with DVD and
wireless Internet access throughout. The
bathrooms are open plan and all have oak floors, large walk-in
showers with huge
showerheads,
mirror walls and, in most cases, free standing
tubs. The views from the top floors over the city, its bay and Mount Esja under the midnight sun are eerie and just breathtaking. The posh Hotel in Reykjavik has a cozy
lounge with fireplace, leather
banquettes and upholstered chairs, a sultry billiard
room, two function
rooms and a softly lit
spa in the basement featuring a
gym,
Jacuzzi,
sauna and black tiled plunge
pool. The hotel's beating heart is the casual 101 Cafeteria, a narrow
bar with high walls and glass ceiling that let the midnight sun flood in and looks up onto an art installation by the owner's sister. 101 Cafeteria is one of the trendiest places in town and serves a menu featuring a combination of modern Icelandic and international
cuisine. There are plenty of gourmet dining venues within walking distance from 101 hotel, such as the Sjavarkjallarinn seafood cellar, Reykjavik's newest
restaurant located in the city's oldest cellar and serving fish and seafood in all kind of variations. Another favourite is the Apotek
Bar-
Grill, housed in a former pharmacy on the city's main square. Creative contemporary
