POIPU, KAUA`I, HI April 23, 2007 The Grand Hyatt Kaua`i Resort and Spas award-winning ANARA Spa has completed Phase 1 of its 20,000 square foot, multi-million dollar expansion. The completion of Phase 2 of the project, expected by the end of 2007, will result in over 45,000 square feet of space devoted to ANARA Spa making it the largest spa on Kauai and second largest in Hawai`i. Drawing on the soothing and healing properties of nature, the expansion is set amidst verdant grounds and serene water features. The completion of Phase 1 brought a new movement pavilion an indoor/outdoor. (Polynesian-styled, thatched-roof hut) offering a bright, open-air space for fitness classes, yoga, and personal training. Also added were an open-air relaxation lounge area, along with a couples massage treatment room, and a private Vichy room. The fitness center was expanded by 900 square feet allowing for additional cardio equipment including treadmills, elliptical trainers, bikes with personal television screens, and Life Fitness strength machines. Spa Director, Robin Jumper, stated, The additions made in Phase 1 are incredible. The new gardens create a sense of tranquility and the added facilities allow us to offer our guests a truly unique Hawaiian spa experience.
