You will never seem them on the waterfront although you might see them on the walking trails in the forest for about one day in May. We do have mosquitoes every spring and summer but they are not out during the day as the breeze off the lake keeps them away. At dusk, the mosquitoes will come out for about one hour to feast. You can either stay inside for awhile or apply insect repellent and wear long sleeved shirts and pants (always recommended) to the bonfire. If we have a dry, hot summer, the mosquitoes can disappear by August. Pams originally from Sault Ste. Marie where the pesky bugs are a nuisance. Here at Lake Edge they dont even get cursed at. Yes! safely get wet without swimming. As you go out into the deeper water it does get rockier so we recommend wearing surf socks or water shoes to ensure you have a firm footing. We also have a raft in the deeper water which you can either swim to or take a boat too.
