The founding of Alassio Alassio, a short time ago, celebrated one thousand years as a city. It;s founding has routs in the legend of Adelasia. Adelasia was the daughter of the Emperor Ottone I, who with Aleranno, found refuge in the territory, now known as Alassio. It;s believed that the first settlements date back to the X century, when several families settled on the hill known as the;Castle; Madonna delle Grazie: where an antique coat of arms is still conserved. These families eventually came down from the hills onto the beach giving origin to;Burgum Alaxii; Alassio is the perfume of the sea, the hot sun and intense sky, mild and bold colours, the living heart of the bay. Clear water and fine sand that slopes gently into the sea allow you to walk for miles almost the waves. In the sheltered bay the weather is mild all year long permitting, as the English did centuries ago, winter sun bathing. In 1989 Residence Le Terrazze opened after a year long, over all, restructuring. In the heart of the historic centre, the house dates back to the 1400;s directly on the sea front, 4 meters from the beach and a few meters from the pier. The residence offers sound proof, elegant, comfortable and air-conditioned rooms. Every floor has a terrace facing the sun, with plants and flowers typical of the region. The terraces are lit up at night and furnished with tables and chairs and white umbrellas. On the fourth floor there is a solarium facing the sea.
