Tourist attractions near the Hotel. Cusco City Cusco City is located in the Valley of the Huatanay River in Peru´s southeastern Andes, in the province and department of Cusco. It is located 3,360 meters (11200 feet) above sea level (main square). The climate is generally mild, cold and dry, with an average annual temperature of 11ºC. The rain season runs from november to March, with light rains at the start of the season and heavier rains from January to March. The dry season runs from April to October. Visitors are advised to bring along warm clothing and raincoats during the rainy season. Sacred Valley of the Incas The Vilcanota/Urubamba river valley is a beautiful place to visit, start at Pisac, just 30 Km. from Cusco. A unique typical Andean town which on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday is filled with locals in their colorful traditional costumes, trading goods after a traditional mass and procession. Ollantaytambo 90 km. from Cusco, located at one end of the Sacrd Valley, the town has preserved the actual Inca layout, the fortress was constructed as another strategic outpost for defensive purpose as well as religious
center. The enormous steps
terraces protecting the fortress are spectacular, the bastions walls were built with huge blocks of granite skillfully carved and were the site of a major battle during Manco Capac`s Inca rebellion against the conquerors. Chinchero 28 Km. from Cusco, the towns unusual architecture is the result of Spanish-Inca fusion. The small church buillt in the late 16 th century, houses several colonial paintings; and the colorful Sunday market is said to be the most authentic in the region. The Inca ruins consist of terracing and a massive Inca wall at the main square with ten lage trapezoids niches.
