Dining at The Roxburghe Guest House. The Roxburghe combines the best of Scottish produce with traditional cooking. Both Sandy and Steve are experienced chefs, who use fresh local produce wherever possible. We source our high quality meats from Brig Farm in Bridge of Earn, Perthshire where Pedigree Highland Cattle and Scotch Mutton are reared on the
banks of the River Earn and matured slowly to retain and improve their Traditional flavour and texture. Highland Beef is low in fat and cholesterol though high in protein. The Farm also supplies us with Perthshire Venison Steaks and Wild Boar in addition to the flavoursome Beef and Mutton for our
Dinner Menu, and Venison Sausages for a
breakfast treat. Our
breakfast choices include tasty Auchtertool pork sausages as well as Lorne Sausages and Black Pudding from the Brig Farm Cattle. For a lighter
breakfast, our choices include Sweet Cured Orkney Herring, Smoked Highland Beef, Smoked Venison and range of European Meats, in addition to both Scottish and Continental Cheeses. Most of our vegetables are grown in the fertile fields round Loch Leven and come straight from
Channel Farm, Kinross. During the summer, however, some vegetables, herbs and salad produce are grown in our own
garden. David Lowrie from Anstruther delivers our fresh fish, which is mostly caught in the North Sea. We have Arbroath Smokies, Aberdeen Finnan Haddock and the finest of Scottish Smoked Salmon, Kippers and Herring. Our
Dinner Menu often features King Prawns, Skate Wings and home-smoked Cod. A selection of Fruit and Herbal Teas are available, and, both the
Dining Room and
Bedrooms are supplied with Fair Trade
Coffee,
Tea and Drinking Chocolate. We cater for Vegetarians and those on Special Diets though advanced notice is always helpful. Special requests may be accommodated. To enhance your dining experience, please ask about our selection of Wines, Spirits, Beers and Soft
Drinks. Please note that some dishes may contain nut products or food substances produced from genetically modified Soya or Maize or both. To avoid disappointment, please make meal reservations in advance
