the magic of the Kootenays. Imagine spending a week in this luxurious home, while exploring the magic of the Kootenays. Our home is located near Kaslo, towards to upper end of 100 mile long Kootenay Lake. Kaslo is an old mining town, brought back to it's original charm a number of years ago. Within a range of 20 km you can chose from any kind of adventure you can imagine: hiking to the Alpine meadows, walking thru a river canyon, watch grizly bears feeding... You may prefer to walk down to our beach, go for a swim, launch one of our kayaks or canoe and paddle the lake, or go fishing... the Kootenays are in the south east corner of British Columbia. Kootenay Lake runs north/south, 100 miles long. It lies between the Selkirk Mountain Range on the west, and the Purcel Mountain Range on the east. The Purcels are part of the western range of the Rocky Mountains. This area has all the impressive
beauty of the Rockies, and yet it has only a fraction of the number of visitors. As soon as you turn off the main highway, it is as if you are in a totally different world: not much traffic, uncrowded hiking trails, and lovely small towns scattered along the valley bottom. our home on Kootenay Lake
