Situated on the A921 coastal road between Burntisland and Kinghorn. By Train: Regular train service to Burntisland, situated on the main Edinburgh/Aberdeen line. Contact ScotRail for further details. By Air: Edinburgh International
Airport: Approx. 30 mins by
taxi or car (Follow signs for Forth Road Bridge and M90 Junction 1). By Car: Leave M90 at Junction 1, heading eastward follow signs for A921 coastal road bypassing Inverkeithing and Hillend. Drive through the village of Aberdour to Burntisland. The First roundabout go straight on - at the second turn right and at the T junction at the bottom of the hill turn left. With the sea on the RHS, the Kingswood is 1/2 mile outside of town on LHS. A perfect base for touring, Edinburgh and Perth are only 30 minutes travel, while St Andrews and Stirling are less than 1hr away. Fife is steeped in history with many palaces, castles, country houses and monuments within easy reach. Also within easy walking distance are the beautiful sandy beaches of Pettycur, Kinghorn and Burntisland.
Built circa 1850 by the Johnstone family, sugar planters from Jamaica, the Kingswood remained a private residence until around 1930. In 1986 the hotel was purchased by Rankin and Kathryn Bell who have personally managed it ever since. The Kingswood was sympathetically extended in 1990 to include the Alexander
Suite and Conservatory. Further extensions and major alterations were completed in 2003/2004 doubling the size of the
Restaurant, Alexander
Suite, Reception and
Lounge Area. Two additional
Suites and a ground floor
bedroom suitable for disabled guests were created at this time. From the grounds of the Kingswood can be seen the monument commemorating the place where Alexander III, the last Celtic King of Scotland, fell from his horse to his death.

We are reliably informed by our regular customers that our Pear and Toffee Pavlova is more than a little famous locally closely followed by our Scottish Trifle.
