Wedding Venue If you are looking for a venue for a small intimate
wedding or family occasion, please consider us. We can offer a full package from the house, catering, flowers, photos and even a Humanist Celebrant (see
http://www.humanism-scotland.org.uk/celebrant-directory/details/douglas-scott-gerrie-2.html). Deborah Andrew Firth look forward to welcoming you to Hillcrest. Set on the southern edge of Wigtown, Scotland`s book town, in this beautiful part of Glorious Galloway - away from the hustle and bustle and the perfect place to relax. The house was built in 1875 and retains much of its original Victorian character and charm, with open views over Wigtown Bay Nature Reserve and yet only a leisurely 10 minute stroll from both the harbour with its birdhide and the town
centre. With
6 ensuite bedrooms, a southerly facing residents
lounge and a large
dining room, we make an excellent base for walking, golfing, cycling, fishing, shooting or for those who just wish to relax and enjoying the fresh Wigtownshire air and explore the many bookshops in town. So if you are looking for a peaceful break for two, or having exclusive use of the house for a larger group - we are the perfect place to stay in this stunning part of Galloway in South West Scotland. We offer excellent hospitality with bed and
breakfast accommodation from 30.00pp, and have an excellent reputation for high quality home cooked evening meals. For those coming for fishing, wildfowling etc, we offer secure storage and 2 kennels. 2005 saw Hillcrest reviewed by HotelReviewScotland.com which resulted in the awards shown within these pages - awards that have been renewed each subsequent year, and 2008 saw us winning at the Hotels of the Year Awards. The original summary review commented that: Hillcrest House is today operated by Deborah and Andrew Firth who have over the last 2 years developed their own style of hospitality. Expect the informal and even a touch of Bohemian; also confidently expect terrific eating based to a remarkable degree on local to very local produce. Its not a posh place but is rather full of character. If you would like to read the full review, or if following your stay you would like to add your own comments just click on the link above.
