Galloway Farmhouse Cheese at the Ewe to You Farm Shop, Millairies Farm, Sorbie. Our other family farm, Millairies, is 3 miles away on the other side of Sorbie village, just off the B7052 between Sorbie Whauphill. It also has cattle and sheep, including a flock of Friesland sheep which are used to produce milk for cheese making. The sheep are lambed in February and the lambs weaned in May, and the mothers are milked through until September. The milk is made into a hard cheese called Cairnsmore, which is available in various flavours. Goat's milk is bought in and made into another hard cheese. The cheese is wholesaled and supplied to delicatessens, top hotels restaurants throughout Scotland, but is available from the Farm Shop 'From Ewe To You', which is open from May to September, between 11am and 4pm. Alongside the cheeses, the shop stocks a range of crafts and gifts, from woollens to pottery, all based on a theme of sheep. Speciality Sheep Shop. Sheep- and Goats-Milk Cheeses.
