The PEGAS microbrewery was one of the first to be build in the Czech Republic after 1989, and the very first ever in Moravia. The idea to reconstrukt a historic building whose foundations date back to the 14th century (illustrated by historic findings borrowered from the Moravian Archaelogical Institute,and exhibited in the brewery) dates to 1990. Soon,in September 1992 the brewery and restaurant and hotel were opened for business. Ever since then, before the guest eyses, four basic PEGAS beers heve been brewered here: Throughout the year occasional specials are made, such as vanilla, ginger, Christmas, cooper's and others. Originally,the restaurant capacity was 100 guests. In 1995 mose basement rooms were built,seating another 70.On 18 December 2003, the 5.000.000th litre of PEGAS beer was made. In June 2005 the brewery underwent a fundamental reconstruction,and the classic top fermentation was replaced by bottom yeast fermentation in CK tanks. The lager cellar capacity was extended,too.This made is possible to increase the output of the brewery,which now ranks among the biggest micro-breweries in the Czech Republic. The brewery now supplies five other restaurants and beer pubs. Great beer is accompanied by homemade regional and international culinary specialties. Smaller groups of guests can enjoy tours of the brewery free of charge. Three upper floors offer lodging in two- and three- bed rooms equipped with full baths,TVs, telephones and minibars.Service include a Wella hair studio.
