Terms Conditions of Whinburn Self Catering: Any deposit paid initially, will be refunded in full, if a cancellation is made up to 3 months before arrival. As most people book self catering, well in advance, it is unusual to fill weeks at short notice and a deposit refund would not normally be made for cancellations within 3 months of booking date. We are ok with guests paying balances on arrival with the following condition: In the event of a very short notice cancellation, (under 1 month) or in the event of not arriving for the booking, the full week's tariff would still be due, minus a 40 cleaning discount. We aim to have the house cleaned to a very high standard for your arrival. This is one of the most important areas that guests naturally expect and appreciate. To ensure the highest standards, we prepare the house ourselves and don't use staff. We appreciate that people are here on holiday and are not here to clean houses but when guests leave, we do ask though that the house is left in an acceptable condition and an attempt has been made to leave the house in a reasonable state. Almost all of our guests are very decent in this respect, in fairness but very occasionally we have been let down and have even had to delay the arrival of the next guests, due the the extra work involved. If the house was left in an unacceptably messy condition, we reserve the right to charge more for the extra cleaning. Finally, breakages do happen, it's part of life!
