Wells Harbor Park Craft Fairs. At the end of Harbor Road is Wells Harbor Park. During the summer and fall months, there are many activities which include various musical groups, playing all your favorites from oldies to swing and jazz. There are many other events, including our now famous Chili Festival which takes place at Harbor Park. Please ask at our front desk for more information. A short walk away is the Wells Elementary and Junior High Ward Gym where several summer and fall craft fairs are held. There are many local attractions in Wells and the surrounding beach towns. Our beautiful sandy beaches are the main attraction, and many of them are within minutes of the Footbridge North Resort Condominium. Wells Beach, Drakes Island Beach, Moody Beach, Ogunquit Beach, and several other beaches are a short drive away. If you prefer, the Trolley will take you to Wells Beach and other beaches. The Footbridge North has a trolley stop nearby the front of the motel. Come see the beaches that Southern Maine is famous for when you visit us on your next vacation. Fine restaurants are abundant in the area. There are many seafood and steak restaurants in Wells, and along the Southern Maine. Seacoast. Where else would you come to find out what a real Maine Lobster Dinner is all about? We would be happy to recommend a few of them to you, or have fun discovering the area's excellent cuisine for yourself. For the vegetarian, most of the restaurants offer vegetarian menus and dishes. Your Maine dining experience will be a memorable one, and a good reason why you'll think about visiting the area again. Many antique dealers and rare book stores may be found in Wells. We are the unofficial world record holder for the amount of such stores and dealers! Many of our visitors tell us of how much fun they have had browsing or picking up that special one-of-a-kind item from these stores. You may find yourself in these stores even on days when you could be basking up sun at the beach. So, watch out, because their addictive; you won't find a larger selection such stores in the world. There are many outlet stores and malls both on the Southern Maine Seacoast. A short drive to the North will bring you to Freeport, home of the world famous L. L. Bean Store and Distribution Center. Freeport has many other fine outlet stores and shops. There are amusement, water and theme parks less than a half hour away from your Footbridge North accommodation. Locally, we have several mini golf and championship full 18 hole golf courses. Arcades can be found in several of the amusement areas in Wells. There is a playground area near Wells Beach. The new multi cinema complex in the Wells Shopping Plaza has first run movies. We have bicycle paths and rentals, kayaking adventures, nature trails at Laudholm Farms and Rachel Carson Wildlife Reserve, fishing, para-sailing and many other activities to keep your days full of fun and novelty. Featured is the pool and sun deck area, which is conveniently located close to your room, but in a quiet and private area. There is plenty of room to lounge, plenty of sun, and our heated pool will refresh you during those summer months when, yes, even in Maine, you will like to cool down, soak up some sun and relax. The sun deck area is equipped with plenty of comfortable lounge chairs and has a canopy area with tables and straight chairs. The pool and sun deck are is located in the scenic back yard area. At the Footbridge North Resort Condominium, you are within walking distance of several small stores, small restaurants, and the Wells Center Shopping Plaza, where there is an ice cream shop, laundromat, Cumberland Farms and other stores for shopping. The Wells Trolley will pick you up and drop you off near the Footbridge North. Trips to Wells Beach, sightseeing, shopping, are all accessible by means of the Trolley, for those of you who want to relax and get around the area without using your vehicle. The new trolley system called the Shoreline Explorer allows you to connect with trollies from York Beach up to Kennebunk, stopping at some beaches and many other stops along the trolley route.
