The Hesper and Luther Little, which most people remember as beached relics in Wiscasset harbor, are reminders of the days when Wiscasset was a thriving seaport and shipbuilding
center. The old four-masted schooners are gone now, but you can still see them mounted as exquisitely made models, built by Jim and Lynda Plante, professional model shipwrights and frequent guests at Wiscasset Motor Lodge. The models were built using wood salvaged from timbers taken from the original schooners.
Wiscasset Motor Lodge is located in beautiful midcoast Maine, north of Portland. We are minutes from the ocean and convenient to Freeport,
Bath, Camden or Boothbay. Enjoy a stay with us and discover Maine's midcoast. For many years, visitors to Wiscasset could see a pair of four masted schooners in the harbor.
