We think we've picked the perfect spot, far enough away to enjoy everything nature has to offer yet close enough to participate in local activities. The Guagus River Inn is located on the Narraguagus River, 1.8 miles from the Atlantic, 1-hour from Bangor, 30 minutes from Ellsworth, 45 minutes from Bar Harbor, and 1 1/2 hours from Canada. Just one of the beautiful sights you will see during your visit to Guagus River Inn... Directions from Interstate 95: Take Interstate 95 to Exit 45A (just southwest of Bangor). Take Interstate 395 (East) 5 miles to the end, Exit 6A. Take Route 1A (southeast, toward Acadia) 23 miles to the end. Route 1A runs into Route 1 at a traffic light in Ellsworth, continue straight ahead through the traffic light and you will be on Route 1 (East). In 1 mile, Route 1 forks to the left at a traffic light. Turn left, staying on Route 1. From that point, go 30.5 miles east on Route 1 to Route 1A in Milbridge. In Milbridge turn right on Route 1A, go 0.9 miles, crossing two bridges. Make your first left onto Kansas Road. The Guagus River Inn is 1.7 miles on your left.

Jackie, a fourth generation native of Maine and Billy, a native Georgian, were married at the Inn on New Year's Eve, 1999. Like so many who've spent years in the corporate environment, Billy and Jackie decided life is too short not to enjoy it to its fullest.
