Restaurants at Hotel Utse: The terrace commands a lovely view of the city and the mountains rimming the valley. Spend a few private hours here, soaking in the sun or enjoy the brilliance of the evening as the lights come on in the city below and the mountains fade into tracery with the approaching night. Utse restaurant opened its doors more than three decades ago in Thamel, with the objective to introduce people to Tibetan cuisine at very reasonable rates. It contributed greatly to the development of Thamel as a tourist hub and is acknowledged as being among the pioneers in the restaurant business in Thamel. Long serving cooks at the restaurant ensure that you get the taste of authentic Tibetan cuisine, some of the restaurants specialties include Gacok as it showcases a wide range of Tibetan dishes and thus provides a wonderful gastronomical experience, stimulating all senses of touch, smell and sight. It is served in a pot which is kept under constant heat through the use of charcoal; it is a mix of succulent meat, vegetables, exotic mushrooms which lend a wonderful aroma served along with momos, noodles, and tea. Other popular dishes include momos, which are dumplings stuffed with meat or vegetables, the stuffing is prepared with a mix of spices, vegetables and choice of meat to create momos that just melt in your mouth. The rooms branch out into four floors, either with parquet floor or carpeted floors. The rooms are divided into three categories namely, super deluxe, deluxe and standard rooms.
