room was used by Vivian Lott to can foods and jellies for her family. The canning
room is a charming romantic
suite, complete with a grecian
jacuzzi tub for two and a gas log fireplace. The
suite is a mixture of pine and cedar plank boards complete with the original antique
iron bed that belonged to Howard and Vivian Lott. Enjoy a late night snack or relax with an early morning cup of
coffee in the cozy

Garden Gate Cottage is a perfect hideaway where you can enjoy your privacy while being pampered. This charming cottage was once home to family members and friends for many years. Original pine hardwood floors and a period footed
tub adorn this second floor victorian
suite. There is a private
balcony with wooden rockers for you to relax and view a beautiful East Texas sunset, or relax on the private suspended deck in the romantic Hot Springs

businessman, is a two-story residence of prairie style construction characteristic of the early 1900's eclectic style. Purchased in 1928 by Howard and Vivian Lott, thisbeautiful example of southern architecture was home for more than sixty-five years to a family who made a vital impact on the growth and heritage of Mineola and Wood County. Howard and Vivian Lott's life was one of hard work and generous achievements. Their foresight and persistence coupled with unshakable faith and courage made a difference in the community, and their majestic dwelling stands today as a landmark of their visions, hopes and dreams. Angus and Lena Beaird began construction of this house in 1918. It was completed in the early 1920s. The Beairds sold the house in 1928 to Howard and Vivian Lott, who were leaders in the development of Mineola and Wood County. The house exhibits prairie school style influences with classical details, including a hipped roof with dormers and a central front porch with boxed columns and a pedimented entry.
