The Lion and Unicorn Bar - Free House. Under the keen supervision of the owner, Bobby, this cosy bar has attracted the locals in droves. Traditional banter can only be built up over years of serving up quality beer in excellent surroundings and that is exactly what has been achieved. The free house status means better prices and more choice for the punters as there is no ties to any particular brewer - a rarity in the trade nowadays. The games room has been opened up to allow more people in at busy times, and an active golf section, pool team, darts team, and extra special days out just add to the good times that keep everyone coming back for even more quality entertainment. The bar has been designed to reflect a cosy atmosphere in one of Scotland's increasingly renowned watering holes. There are bars all over the world, but the sense of belonging and community spirit in The Lion and Unicorn gives it that unknown quantity, that make it one of the most memorable you will pass through. The average price of a pint of beer is still only £2.00 and the spirits £1.20 a nip. This is very reasonable at modern day prices.

It is thriving with a locally well used restaurant and activity filled bar, an indication in itself that the quality of food must be top notch. The Lion and Unicorn prides itself on the active participation of many local people in the pool and darts teams in the winter months. The pool team are currently champions of the local pool league, celebrated in traditional fashion at the end of the season. The golf section is very active. As you will see by the photographs from the King's Acre couse in Edinburgh, there was much banter. Congratulation for the recent outing go to Billy Stevenson, officially named as The Lion and Unicorn Masters Champion. The darts team are a sociable lot who enjoy the Thursday evenings out of the house and any excuse to visit other neighbouring pubs to throw a few arrows. Other Events: Shooting Day at the Kier Estate in nearby Bridge of Allan. The boys had a great day out on the pull, but spot the nice wellies. Many thanks for this event go to Bill Black of Absolutely Scotland. Check out his for more adventurous activities. If any one is interested in joining in any of the extra curricular activities, please telephone or email to find out what's happening in the near future.
