On the propety you will find a variety of opportunities to relax or meet other travelers - the Hacienda Courtyard has a large portal with outdoor fireplace that burns year-round and where your innkeepers host cocktails or informal gatherings with guests and visitors to the Inn. Surrounded by various fruit trees (including the infamous cherry tree known for the yearly cherry pit spitting contest), the Hacienda is a great spot for a commitment ceremony or special event. The main courtyard, where most of the rooms surround, has sitting areas, as well as the outdoor spa and sunning area. The tub is open 24 hours a day, year-round and is great for an early morning soak in mid-summer before the heat of the day or for a new way to enjoy a nights' snow fall. Finally, guests are always welcome in the reception office - which is really a combination reference and movie library. A telephone with computer hook-up and large desk are available for guests who have need to keep in-touch with the real world. Books on the area - what to do, where to go, hiking, shopping, history - are available for guests to borrow; a large movie library; and karan's famous menu book - which includes current menus for many of the restaurants in town, along with her ratings! Don't forget, you can dine in Santa Fe for $10 or $100 and still have a great meal! And both of your innkeepers look forward to assisting you in planning your trip, with suggestions on daily itineraries, out-of-the-way hikes, the most reputable places to horseback ride or raft, and of course, crafts and arts from local and national artisans, most of whom are gay and lesbian. A visit to the Inn offers you the best the area has to offer - a tranquil space at a reasonable price and gentle care taking to ensure you get to know the real Santa Fe!

The largest of the casitas at The Triangle Inn, The Pinon House is the original main house erected on the compound. Built in the 1920's in traditional, New Mexican style with adobe bricks, hand plastered walls and large viga ceiling beams, the room was extensively renovated in 1998 retaining all its original charm and detail. You enter through a large adobe walled courtyard featuring a large apple tree, brick patio, and an outdoor seating area with grill and freestanding fireplace. The front door opens into the brick-floored kitchen, which has full size appliances, and a dining area overlooking the apple tree. It is fully equipped with microwave, cookware and utensils. The living room is unusually large with hardwood floors, fireplace, sitting area, writing desk and entertainment armoire; it is furnished in a southwestern ranch style. The master bedroom has a luxurious king bed, built-in closet and western style dresser. It has been whimsically painted by a local well-known artist to resemble an Anaszai cave dwelling, complete with petroglyphs. This room is furnished with a queen bed and large built-in closet. The spacious bathroom, which can be entered either through the kitchen or master bedroom, has a double sink and large walk-in tiled shower with banco. Each season in Santa Fe offers a myriad of opportunities to explore the arts, Native American culture, fine theater, musical performances, outdoor activities, dining and shopping. The eight pueblos in the area frequently invite outsiders in for a peek at modern Native life. Dances and ceremonies are held at various times, particularly in the fall and late December. It is an unparalleled opportunity to experience the ancient ceremonies, dances and unique lives of the Pueblo Indians. The outdoors beckons throughout the year. There are hundreds of fabulous hiking trails; there is horseback riding, white water rafting, hot air ballooning, snow-mobiling, down-hill and cross-country skiing, just to mention a few options. Summer, though the area's busiest season, is also the time of year with the most to offer. The world-renowned Santa Fe Opera, performing 4 or 5 operas each season, draws aficionados from around the world. July and August host both the Hispanic and Indian Markets, which bring the unique talents of the Spanish and Native American artisans to the Santa Fe Plaza. Fall continues with stunning weather and a host of activities. Fiesta de Santa Fe kicks off the season with a bang. Various other festivals, artist tours and the renowned Santa Fe Wine and Chile Festival continue to bring visitors to the area. October's big draw is the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, with morning and evening events just an hour away. And, most important to some, the season brings the foods the area is known for, particularly delicious fresh green and red chiles. The winter months offer a quieter time to explore. Shops are less crowded and prices lower -- a perfect opportunity for early holiday shopping. Thanksgiving signals the start of the downhill ski season at the five surrounding ski resorts. Late December brings the crowds again -- Santa Fe really shows off during the holiday season. Concerts, winter walks to see the faraolitos, down and cross-country skiing entice visitors year after year. Spring is slow in coming to the mountains, with varied weather from big spring snows to gloriously warm days an big blue skies. Easter is a special time in northern New Mexico when thousands of New Mexicans and devout Catholics from around the country do the walk to Chimayo. The Santurario de Chimayo, an old adobe church, ten minutes north of the Inn, is considered a most holy and miraculous place for Catholics; many use Holy Week to walk there, often for hundreds of miles, as a sign of devotion -- a truly unique event. Planning ahead is a good idea if you want to attend many of the cultural events, specially the Santa Fe Opera. Check with your innkeepers as you are making your plans, so they can ensure you don't miss special activities.
