Local transport, restaurants and et cetera. LOCAL TRANSPORT ALVSJO FAIR Take bus 53 outside the house entrance to Central train Station (15 min). Take then the commuter train to Alvsjo (8 min). WALKING Walking to central Stockholm Sweden takes about 25 minutes. Just follow Birger Jarlsgatan south direction. BUS Bus 53 just outside the entrance runs to town-district Sodermalm via Odenplan, - central Stockholm Sweden, - Central station, - Old town and - Slussen. At Odenplan you can change to the green subway line. Bus 46 goes to Sodermalm (Sofia) via Birger Jarlsgatan, central Stockholm Sweden, Old town. SUBWAY For the red subway line, station Tekniska Hogskolan walk Birger Jarslgatan 3 blocks direction city, at Odengatan turn left, walk 100 meters. For the green line, station Odenplan, take bus 53, and you will arrive at Odenplan in 5 minutes. MISCELLANOUS GROCER's ICA at Birger Jarlsgatan, 100 meters to the right when you step outside the house entrance. Open 8 am to 11 pm, Sunday 9 am to 11 p.m. Konsum at corner Roslagsgatan/Odengatan. BAKERY The old bakery Lindquists, at Odengatan 27 (near Roslagsgatan). Open Mon-Fri 6.30 am to 8 pm, Sat-Sun 7.30 am to 6 p.m. The have coffee with cream cakes for 25 SEK, and breakfast. The French grocery shop Chez Albert just 50 meters left up on the street Roslagsgatan has fresh bread. EATING BREAKFAST OUT Our favourite is Sirap, corner Surbrunnsgatan/Tulegatan. There are also other places for example on Odengatan. Bakery Lindquists has breakfast. LUNCH Lunch (11am - 2 pm) on weekdays is a good deal. Restaurants serve one or more dishes for a about 60 SEC. “Flavour of India” nearby at Roslagsgatan has a good buffe. The thai restaurant PhiPhi Island at Birger Jarlsgatan (go right outside entrance to the street Birger Jarlsgatan then left 100 meters) is good. The french grocery shop Chez Albert just 50 meters up on the street Roslagsgatan has fresh lovely pasta, subs and other goodies. DINNER The soup restaurant ”Sibiriens soppkok” at corner Roslagsgatan/Frejgatan has delicious soups. The thai restaurant PhiPhi Island has dishes starting at about 120 SEC. The italian Tarantino just 20 meters to the left from our entrance has nice pastas from about 100 SEK and meat and fish dishes starting at about 160 SEC. Restaurant “Marden” at corner Surbrunnsgatan/Tulegatan is more luxury. Restaurant “Storstad” at Odengatan/Dobelnsgatan is a trendy party restaurant/bar. At the southwest end of gulf Brunnsviken lies the expensive restaurant Stallmastargarden with waterview (starting at about 180 SEC for a dish). 15 minutes walk. See listing of restaurants in this area (Vasastan). DRY CLEANERS Roslagsgatans Kemtvatt at Roslagsgatan 12 (between Surbrunnsgatan and Odengatan). PHARMACY ”Apoteket”,at Odengatan near Roslagsgatan. WINE AND LIQUER ”Systembolaget”, corner Birger Jarlsgatan/Karlavagen. SWIMMING In the summer you can swim in the gulf “Brunnsviken”. Walk along the east side of the gulf until you reach a small beach (about 1 km from this house). There is also some cliffs you can swim from. JOGGING/WALKING/HIKING The park Hagaparken which surround the gulf Brunnsviken is lovely. Walking around the gulf is about 12 km (there is bridge over the strait). There is a couple of cafes and some restaurants in the park. The park Vanadislunden very close is a green hill with a lovely view over the city. Take left outside the entrance and walk straight ahead 50 meters on Ingemarsgatan and up the stairs (3 minutes walk).

How to get to the apartment. From Arlanda Airport by taxi. From Arlanda Airport to Central Train Station. From Central Train Station to apartment. The driver should know the way (otherwise see Driving directions above). Do not forget to agree on the price before you enter the taxi. The major cab companies usually apply fixed prices, but there have been occurrences of heavily overpricing from some smaller companies. Some taxi companys offers a special flat rate of SEK 350 equal to about $34 (tips included). They accept Visa and Master Card. Travelling time about 40 minutes. The flat rate applies only to trips from the airport. Trips to the airport are metered and typically run at around SEK 450-500 depending on the traffic situation. From Arlanda Airport by bus or express train. By Express Train to Stockholm Central Train Station Leaves every 15 minutes, 20 minutes trip to Central Train Station. See www.arlandaexpress.com. From there, see route From Central Train Station to apartment below. By Bus to Stockholm Central Train Station Leaves every 5 minutes, 40 minutes to Central Train Station. From there, see route From Central Train Station to apartment below. You may chose to arrange for combination ticket for bus plus taxi at the airport (Flygbusstaxi). The airport coaches Flygbussarna offer comfortable transportation to and from all major airports in Stockholm and other cities (including Skavsta and Vasteras). Timetable, prices and other useful information is to be found on www.flygbussarna.com. Bus 53 outside the MAIN entrance of Central Train Station goes directly to the street outside the apartment. Walk out of the MAIN entrance of the Central Train Station, cross Vasagatan, You will now see a McDonalds to the left, about 30 meters. The bus stop is just in front of McDonalds. Go by the bus till last bus stop (Roslagstull), which takes about 15 minutes. You will get more information about local directions, phone numbers and et cetera from us when booking.

APARTMENT DESCRIPTION. 1 large light and quite single or double room, twin bedded, with bathroom en suite (bathtub and shower), small fully equipped kitchen area with micro, coffee maker, toaster, fridge, TV and private entrance on the 5th floor. The apartment is clean, bright and cozy. The two comfortable beds have thick high quality mattresses. One bed is 120 cm wide and the other is 90 cm wide. Linen and towels included of course. Obs! No breakfast included. Non-smoking. The apartment is situated at Roslagsgatan near Vanadislunden and Roslagstull in the town-district Vasastan. The surroundings is very nice with: Beautiful Vanadislunden (big hill) with a wonderful view over city (only 3 minutes walk). Here is also outdoor swimming pool with big water slides (fun for children). The Haga park and gulf Brunnsviken (5 minutes walking) where it is nice swimming in summer and possible to go ice skating or skiing in winter time. It's about 13 km's to walk/jog around the gulf. Many shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Only 20 minutes walking to central Stockholm Sweden, or take the bus outside entrance.
