This is the story of my 1978 KZ650 that I purchased new in 1979 in Toronto. Together with this bike I have traveled many miles and have made many happy memories. After I acquired a Honda V65 Magna this bike was retired and only ridden occasionally. But in May 1999 on our 20th anniversary (me and the bike that is) I went for one more trip, the Magna was in the shop anyways. Below is a few photos of this trip, Watson Lake, Yukon to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and return via Edmonton, Northern Saskatchewan and the Liard Highway. I have many more photos of trips and misadventures with this old bike and hope to get around to adding them to this page. I have about 90,00 km on the old Kawi now, it is very hard to start when cold now, I think it might have the low compression disease, I have a organ donor parts bike and might swap out the engine some day if the Magna dies. Night before departure, all loaded up, part of my Jap bike collection. Steamboat on the Alaska Highway, I endured sticky snow and sleet coming down earlier that day and could only see if I had my glasses off, facesheild open and my nose almost touching the top of the windshield. This is the famous giant Easter Egg in Vegraville, Alberta. This is one of the places where I ran out of gas, the Kawasaki KZ650 is very well suited to being pushed to the next town in Saskatchewan. NWT boarder, 60th parallel. On the ferry crossing the McKenzie river. Old plane in Yellowknife. Typical scenic lookout you might find in the Northwest Territories. Thursday, March 07, 2002 09:41 AM. Description of the Cedar Lodge Motel Peter and Terri Skerget Ph. (867) 536-7406 Email. Cedarlodge@yknet.yk.ca. Our Motel has been in continuous operation since it was built in 1961, ours is the only all cedar log constructed motel in Watson Lake, we are open year round. The four original cabins each consist of two complete motel rooms. In 1993 we began our recent expansion, We had a six unit apartment building moved in from a nearby mining town that folded up, completion of this project will see the addition of 6 luxury all cedar suites to our operation. This summer we will have available the four original cabins as well as 4 suites in the new building. This will bring the total rooms available for 2004 to 12. All of our motel rooms feature complete baths, digital clock radios, colour remote T.V. Nine of the rooms are fully equipped with kitchens, all are equipped with coffee and tea making equipment. Pick up and drop off at the Watson Lake Airport or float base can be arranged. Recently a restaurant has begun operation nearby. We are located 1 mile from the town center. Within walking distance of our facility is a small lake stocked with rainbow trout, there are also many walking trails in the woods nearby for some light exercise or to view the wildlife and birds. Not having a noisy bar and considering one of our neighbours is the RCMP we are proud to say that in all the years that no one has ever had a vehicle vandalized or broken into while staying with us. I am willing to answer motel enquires or any other questions. Back to the main page. Saturday, November 29, 2003 10:37 PM. All content ©1996-2003
Hi, like my name is Celine and this is my web page, my dad helped me with this page (he is cool!)and he might help me change the picture, the picture I have many nice pictures and my dad might help me scan them on the scan them add them here to my dad rocks), this past summer I went to the P.N.E. On Aug. 17th Tracy Hair, Toby Reams, Dan Reams our chaperone and I left for the P.N.E. Ten o'clock that morning the three of us and our three dogs headed up to Whitehorse, to fly to Vancouver. Our drive up to Whitehorse seemed short to me because we talk all the way. At Teslin we stopped to eat lunch and let our dogs out. We ate and then jumped back into finish our truck ride. When we got to Whitehorse Dan had to go into the dentist so the three of us went to Rotary Peace Park to do some dog training. As soon as we got there Nugget (Toby's dog) decided to run after a loose dog. We were all worried at first but he was soon caught. After that we did some shopping and then went out to Mary Gamberg's house. There we would spend the night. After chatting we went to bed to get a good night's rest because we had a flight early the next morning. E-mail: me, right now Yukongal@hotmail.com this is cool if you use hotmail
