At an altitude of 1,440 meters, La Thuile is becoming well-know amongst sports enthusiasts around the world. The ski season extends from the end of November to the end of April. Because La Thuile is connected to the French resort of La Rosiere, skiers have 150 km. of ski runs to enjoy. As an alternative to downhill skiing, La Thuile also offers cross-county skiing on 20 km. of track, and snowshoeing with an Alpine guide. Afther-sky options include the severals restaurants serving traditional dishes and a variety of Italian wines. Bars and discos enliven the night in La Thuile, as well as films and variety shows, and even moonlight snowshoe excursion. In summer, activities include mountain biking, trekking, fishing, tennis, rafting, and golf at the foot of Mont Blanc, 15 km. from La Thuile.

The Hotel Rolland is located in the small alpine village of La Thuile (Aosta Valley) with panoramic views of the Rutor Glacier. During the winter, skiers can reach this glacier by helicopter and enjoy a fantastic day of skiing through the French resort of La Rosiere and back to town. A short distance from the village center, the Hotel Rolland is also very close to the main gondola and chairlifts and can be reached by foot or by free shuttle bus.
