It is just a few minutes walk from the promenade and the elegant boulevard of Lord Street, about which it is said that while visiting the resort in the 19th century Napoleon lV was so taken with the elegance of the thoroughfare that he went home to eventually model the Champs Elysee in a similar fashionProbably a little poetic license was used by the locals of the time! Originally a Victorian Town House, the guest house was converted at the turn of the 19th century to cater for guests of a more discerning nature, and has continued to do so now for over 100 years.
