Bansko is situated 170 km from the international airport of Bulgaria's capital city, Sofia. Transfer time is approximately 2.5 hours. Special travel or transfer arrangements are possible, including trips to the local vineyards and to the many historical sites in the locality. If you require any more information please. It is possible to get direct flights to Bulgaria from most major airports in the UK. The approximate cost for a direct flight is around 180 Euros for the national carriers and as low as 27 pounds for the Budget airlines. Ski Information The ski season in Bansko starts on the 18th of December and runs through to the 18th of April each year. Typically a weekly ski pass will cost 125 euros and ski/board rental costs around 10 euros a day. Ski lessons can be arranged for 10 euros an hour for groups and 20 euros an hour for private lessons. Currency Information. The Currency in Bulgaria is the Leva, you will get a good rate of exchange from cash machines. You can change Sterling and Euros easily in town.
