Mr. Fahnestock was a prominent local merchant in the 1870's and later a land and immigration agent for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. The home is a fine example of Victorian architecture in the Queen Anne style. Built in 1890, it features a three story turret and bow window, beautifully carved woodwork, open staircase, and beautiful beveled glass and etched windows. Outside features include a large covered front porch and a semicircular open verandah. The large lawn includes a formal perennial garden, fountain and patio.
