Some excerpts from the website of Waterloo House that might be useful
Named by Travel and Leisure Magazine as the most sophisticated jewel of a small hotel in Bermuda, Waterloo House is an elegant Manor house with surrounding cottages dating back to 1815. The hotel rests amidst four acres of
terraced
gardens right on Hamilton Harbor. It is within walking distance of the heart of the financial and insurance district in addition to many of the hisotoric and cultural sites on the island. Waterloo House, although the perfect location for a tranquil holiday of rest and relaxation, also offers an ideal base for the
business executive traveling abroad, with its central location close to the heart of the financial and
business community. Modern
business conveniences such as
WiFi and T-1 access in all
rooms have recently been added. The Alfred Blackburn Smith (ABS)
Suite is a sumptuously appointed private salon which can accommodate board meetings,
seminars, or
forum groups. The
room is
computer-compatible, has
fax and
phone service, presentation equipment including
TV and VCR, as well as a private
bar,
kitchen and
bathroom. Secretarial services on hand and all
business needs can be accommodated when booking the
suite. It has the versatility to be turned from a
meeting room into a
private dining room for elegant
lunch or
dinner parties or formal
cocktail receptions. With fine antique
furniture, elaborate soft furnishings and baronial decor, the ABS offers guests the chance to entertain in total privacy yet in the style of a grand country house. Waterloo House is known around the world as one of Bermuda's best
restaurants and with its Executive Chef has won countless awards for
cuisine both in North America and Europe. The Poinciana
Terrace on the water's edge is the place to be for al fresco
luncheon or romantic candlelight
dinners under the stars. In winter,
breakfast and
lunch are still enjoyed on the
terrace but
dinner is a grand occasion in the magnificent Wellington
Room. A wide variety of sporting activities are available for guests, such as charter fishing, water
skiing,
windsurfing, swimming, either in the harbour or the fresh water
pool. There is a small
fitness center in the hotel. Waterloo boasts its own private launch. Romantic secluded picnics on many of the uninhabited and unspoiled islands surrounding Bermuda's shoreline or harbour cruises and
cocktail cruises are available. Guests are also encouraged to enjoy all the facilities of Waterloo House's sister properties, Horizons and Cottages, and the exclusive private member's
club, the Coral Beach and
Tennis Club. Coral Beach possesses the finest private beach on the island, as well as superb flood lit championship
tennis courts,
croquet, putting,
squash, bowls, and a fully equipped
fitness center.

golf clubs on the island. Whether visiting Bermuda for
