How to get to North Caicos Island and Pelican Beach Hotel. Your island getaway begins when you schedule a flight to the island of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. Major carriers that fly into Providenciales (known locally as Provo) include American, US Airways, Air Canada, Bahamasair and British Airways. Once you're in Providenciales, a local carrier will bring you to North Caicos. Let us know your arrival carrier and time, and we will make arrangements for you on either Global Airways or Air Turks and Caicos (formerly InterIsland Airways). Both companies fly smaller planes (5-9 passengers) among the islands. Schedules vary, and you may have a wait at the airport. Don't fret; relax, have a snack or meal and a cool drink at Gilley's Restaurant. When you arrive at the North Caicos airport, a taxi will pick you up and bring you to our beachfront hotel.

FAQ Weather, Whims and Whatever. Temperatures in the Turks Caicos Islands average 83 degrees Fahrenheit (20 C). During hotter months (September and October), temperatures can reach 90-95 F (33-35 C). Light, casual clothes are acceptable for all activities. Don't bring too many clothes! Instead, pack your snorkeling gear, books, binoculars for bird watching or stargazing and your fishing gear. Other suggested items to bring: * Sunscreen and a hat. The tropical sun will sneak up on you! Breezes from the ocean keep you so comfortable that you might forget about the sun's strength. * Water shoes or old sneakers. Some sections of beach are rocky, and at low tide there are shell fragments in the water. * Insect repellent. After rainy weather we do get some mosquitoes, and calmer days can bring sand flies. And if you are planning on treks through the bush, repellent is a must! * Personal toiletries. * Camera equipment. You don't want to miss those shots of clear blue water or a spectacular rainbow! If a rainy day curtails your beach activities, we can furnish indoor games and puzzles as well as extra reading material.
