Please bear in mind that discount phone rates have not found their way to the Turks Caicos Islands and all telephone rates are set by Cable Wireless. Considering the cost of maintaining 'state of the art' telecommunications services in the middle of the Caribbean - rates are probably reasonable. However, for any guests who are used to the de-regulated USA market where calls are pennies per minute - the cost of a phone call in Provo can be a shock. Long Distance Calls: Depending when and where you are calling, calls range from $1.50 per minute and up... this charge includes most 800 'calling card' calls for companies such as MCI and Sprint. (see below) Your long distance calls will be charged directly to your room account. 1-800 Calls: If you call an 800 number - you will be charged for the call. Keep this in mind if you have a 'calling card' - since you may be charged twice. Local Turks Caicos Calls: Even local calls are charged per minute. Current charges are approximately $1.10 per three minute period ( three minutes and one second would be $2.20). Receiving Calls: You can be contacted at the hotel by having people call you at 649-946-5547. From 9am through 10pm calls will be answered at the front desk transferred to your room. If you expect calls at other times, you should let people know your room number/extension so that they can use our automated telephone system to transfer the call to your room. If callers don't know your room number, they can leave a message and we'll inform you the next morning when the office opens. Most cell phones from the US do not work in the Turks Caicos with the exception of ATT Wireless. There are posters in the Providenciales airport that proclaim that you can use 'roaming' on most cell phones - but we haven't found any that work. Some guests report that Sprint cell phones show 'analog roaming' on the display, but no calls were able to be placed. Other guests report that phones from the UK are more apt to work - check with your cell phone provider prior to traveling if this is important to you. There doesn't seem to be a standard for what works and what doesn't. Since technology is always improving, hopefully all cell phones will work in the near future - so it may be worth bringing the phone along just in case the situation changes. There is a website that has information at http://www.roamersguide.com/ which may be helpful. Cable and Wireless cell phones are available for rent at TCI Online. I was most enamored with the Sibonn? Hotel... with 26 rooms and an apartment has a graceful, old-Caribbean feel, with an open-air restaurant overlooking the beach. The Washington Post - 2003. Why choose Sibonn? Beach Hotel? As soon as you step onto your balcony, dine in our oceanfront restaurant, lounge by the pool, step onto the powdery-white sand, or swim in the amazing turquoise water of Grace Bay Beach - you'll understand why Sibonn? Beach Hotel is the best choice for your Caribbean beach vacation in the Turks Caicos Islands. My husband and I stayed at the Sibonne in October 2005, and it was a great little hotel. Its RIGHT on the beach, and the beach was virtually deserted when we visited. The sea is crystal clear and the sand white and clean. The attatched restuarant,Bay Bistro was wonderfull too. The food was expertly prepared by Craig from Scotland, who was most helpful with any requests for food differing from the menu. While we were there there was the tail end of a hurricane about, and after a spectacular storm one evening, all the power went off. But it was not a problem and indeed added to the whole experience!! A gem on an island that is currently being built on in a big way. Lots of condo blocks going up. I fear Sibonne might get swallowed up by the big boys, but I hope not as it was a truly divine little oasis on Grace Bay. And cheap too!!. Trip Advisor - January 2006. Sibonn? was the first hotel built on Grace Bay Beach - so it enjoys the best position on the most famous beach in the Caribbean. Many of our guests have returned time and again since the hotel was built as 'Le Deck' - and our hotel was the only resort on all of Grace Bay. Just returned from a 9-day vacation on Provo, staying at Sibonn? Boutique Hotel. It was lovely; we had the little villa with a kitchen and partially screened balcony - just perfect. The hotel is just right for those of us who shun large, all-inclusive hotels. The staff is friendly and very accommodating, the Manager is wonderful and can help you with all of the secret snorkeling spots right off the beach, a short walk or drive away. The friendly resident cat is the Little Ambassador. We spent several evenings just walking on the beach at sunset. The Bay Bistro restaurant, attached to the hotel, serves wonderful food and exotic drinks; some of the best meals we had on Provo. We highly recommend Sibonn?!. Trip Advisor - November 2003. Renovated and renamed Sibonn? Beach Hotel - we are the most intimate hotel on Grace Bay. With only 29 rooms, our guests enjoy the distinction of being closer to the beach than anyone staying at the more recent large-scale resort developments such as Point Grace, The Sands, The Alexandra, or The Palms - which are just a short walk down the beach in either direction. There is no better deal on Grace Bay than the Sibonne. Small, intimate, beachy and clean, this hotel gives the flavor of what Provo was like years before the condoization began. Well furnished rooms, close the the beach and with a great bar and restaurant attached, you cannot beat the atmosphere at Sibonne. If glitz and South Beach is what you want there are plenty of condo's but the Sibonne will not fit your needs. Also, although it does not discourage kids, I wouldn't bring my 11 and 12 year olds here, it's too quite, quaint and cute for them, but it was great for me. My husband I spent a week at the Sibonne Hotel, we found the staff to be very accommodating. They supply a large beach towel and thick thirsty bath towels. Our room, bed and furniture was all very comfortable clean. Loved being so close to the beach. We had some of the most beautiful sunsets! We really like the fact it is not crowded anywhere you go. It truly is a secret getaway, as most have never heard of it! I got some wonderful shots of an Egret that landed next to my chair! The temperature was perfect with a slight breeze. Everyday my comment was, another beautiful day in paradise!. Trip Advisor - February 2003. With all of the room amenities of a modern resort (cable TV, mini-fridge, hair dryer, in-room safe, air conditioning, ceiling fan, direct-dial telephones with data-port, coffee maker, clock) - we offer comfortable accommodations, the best location on Grace Bay Beach and everyday value rates that make Sibonn? Beach Hotel your best choice in the Turks Caicos Islands - for your perfect Caribbean vacation! My son and I went for a quickie dive trip and researched many places. Sibonne seemed to fit the bill in more ways than one. The pictures on their web site do not do the hotel justice, it is much more picturesque that that. The Bistro restaurant is open air and looks out over the beach and ocean -- it's gorgeous and the food is excellent. Continental breakfast is free and fine or you can order the full eggs, bacon etc for $7. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Spring for an extra $20 a nite and get the ocean view (second floor). They have a nice balcony overlooking the lush garden courtyard and the ocean is just beyond. The beach is super with thatched umbrellas and pleanty of lounge chairs. If you are looking for a romantic small hotel with a quiet atmosphere, this is the place. I can't find anything bad to say about it and the price is definitely a deal. As far as other restaurant options, I recommend the Gecko Grill (it would be a TOP restaurant in ANY major US city) and Magnolia (nice outdoor hilltop view of the harbor). Book it and ENJOY!!! Trip Advisor - November 2005. We don't have a spa, shops, casino, or nightlife - but there are several options just a short walk down the beach in either direction at some of our larger neighbor resorts. We don't have a concierge or tour desk - but we do have some of the friendliest staff in the Caribbean that will gladly help you make any arrangements to enjoy your vacation in the sun - just stop by the office and talk to Patsy or Sandra. We DO HAVE the best hotel value on Grace Bay Beach for travelers who enjoy casual elegance, nature, relaxation, fine dining and comfortable accommodations at our intimate Caribbean beach hotel. Now, if this sounds too good to be true - don't just take our word for it... check out what past guests say about Sibonn? Beach Hotel on and send us an email or call to book your room at Sibonn? Beach Hotel.
