airport. Finding places in Costa Rica can sometimes be difficult because many streets do not have names, most homes and
businesses do not have numbers, and road signs are often absent. Here are the turn-by-turn driving instructions from the Juan Santamaria International
Airport to the hotel. With no traffic, the driving time is about 15-20 minutes. Our

Airport to The Alta Hotel. Leave
Airport and head east toward San Jose. At yield sign merge right into highway traffic (Careful!). Follow highway, pass toll booth (on opposite side of the road only) and take next exit: Sign says La Ribera de Belen and San Antonio. Turn left after exiting (white Intel plant is in front of you). Turn right at first intersection / stop sign (sign says Santa Ana 12 kilometers). At next intersection turn quick left (sign says Marriott Hotel). At stop sign turn right (sign says Ribera, Marriott Hotel). Continue straight past Marriott. Pass through yellow flashing light and go down hill. Turn left (Shopping
center is on the left with BN sign). Turn right at stop sign (sign says Santa Ana). Bear right at intersection. Turn left at the light. Panasonic is on the left. This is a long stretch past several shopping centers and
office buildings. Landmark: at 3.17 kilometers you will pass Matra on your left. Landmark: Go under bridge. CAREFUL HERE. At the stop light/stop sign go straight. CAREFUL HERE AS TRAFFIC COMES FROM BOTH DIRECTIONS. Then at the immediate next corner turn left. Landmark: the Cruz Roja or Red Cross is on your left. Continue straight through the town of Santa Ana, eventually curving left then right and climbing the hill known as Alto de las Palomas. Look for a Hotel Alta sign. As you near the crest of the hill you will see the orange-colored Alta Hotel on your left. If you reach the top of the hill and start to go down, you have gone too far.
