Some excerpts from the website of The Forth Inn that might be useful
Our wedding information gives a broad idea of some of the types of functions, which may be held in The Forth Inn. This information is meant purely as a guide, and is by no means the only format we can provide. Our main function room 'The Gathering' with seating for up to 120 people provides a magnificent setting for a memorable wedding. We would strongly recommend that any bridal couple come and visit The Forth Inn so that they may better see and sample what is available. WEDDING PLANNING INFORMATION: Finding the perfect venue for your wedding can be a daunting task. We understand why this is such an important day for you. The photographs that you can see on this site don't do The Gathering justice!. All we can suggest is that you come and see it for real! As you would expect, Wedding Receptions at The Forth Inn are tailor made to your individual requirements. Our principal reception room 'The Gathering' is just perfect for welcoming guests. Nothing is too much trouble, we want to work with you, to make this day memorable. Our Chefs are more than happy to discuss with you your wedding meal, menu's can be discussed at length to make this a culinary delight. On this site you will find a link to prepared for other wedding parties, we now use these as sample menus to illustrate what can be provided. It is usual to allow only one choice at each course, we will however provide an alternative should it be required i.e. a vegetarian dish could be made available on a menu that has Chicken as the main course. advance notification is essential for this. If you need ideas why not have a look at our. Tables can be set in a variety of formations and we would be happy to discuss this with you. The menus can be presented on either your choice of paper or our note paper tied in a scroll with a ribbon to suit your wedding theme. 'The Gathering' incorporates a large dance floor, and Aberfoyle has more than it's fair share of talented Musicians. We do not have resident musicians, however, The Kinlochard Ceilidh Band is the most popular Ceilidh Band in the area. As with the Photographer our advice would be to book early, bands tend to get booked up as far ahead as 9 months!. If you are thinking about having a Ceilidh, It's a good idea to also think about having a disco or similar, it breaks the evening up and allows a little variety. The Forth Inn can supply flowers for your wedding or you may engage your own florist. Close to Aberfoyle there are two Florists that we would recommend, Strathendrick Florist and The Daisy Chain both have a wealth of knowledge and provide an excellent service for weddings. Central Scotland has an abundance of fabulous photographers two of which are Phil Rider and Gordon McGowan. Both use their art superbly and will make your wedding photo album one to show off for decades to come. Remember that in twenty years or so the memories that you are showing to your grandchildren will be in the form of photographs, you will want them to be good ones! Unfortunately this can't happen entirely, due to the public bar area. What we do for larger wedding functions, is suggest that the wedding party take all the six bedrooms at a discounted rate (-10%). This takes away the possibility of having other residents to cater for, allowing us to close the smaller restaurant (which can then be set up for your buffet). With the 'exclusive' use it also means that the smaller restaurant can be used for wedding photographs should the weather not be too kind. The Forth Inn has Six well appointed en-suite bedrooms. Please don't let this be a problem for you. We are in the centre of a tourist area and locally we are blessed with a variety of accommodation that can be used to compliment your day here. Previous wedding parties have taken advantage of this wonderful part of the world and stayed on, on holiday. Upon reception it is quite normal to serve drinks, often Champagne with the compliments of the Bride and Groom. In order to give an estimate of the costs you may incur an average guest will consume approximately half a bottle of wine or Champagne during a one hour pre meal reception. Alternatively with your compliments we can serve a reception drink and then open the bar to your guests. can be seen on this site. Wines start from £10.50 per bottle and we would recommend an allowance of half a bottle per person for during the wedding meal. During the after dinner speeches it is usual for a toast to be provided. Normally only one drink per person is required. We do not operate a corkage policy. All items consumed by your party must be purchased from The Forth Inn. Therefore you may not supply your own wine or spirits etc for consumption during the wedding or in the bedrooms. We hope you find the information above to be useful, if we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us we would be pleased to help.

Click on the video and experience what Go Ape is all about its more than a day out - The clip shows the final zip line back to the David Marshall Lodge. here's an analogy, It cost's about the same to go into any football ground in Britain - so lets take Ibrox, or Celtic Park, football grounds for those of you not from Scotland. Each week around 60,000 gather on alternate Saturdays throughout the football season. And at just about every gathering lots will go home saying that was just not good enough (or words to that effect!) and if Rangers or Celtic don't win there will be very few smiles. Now for the same money, I would like to bet when you finish Go Ape you will have a smile on your face, and that you recommend it to someone else. It also lasts for about 3hrs - not 90 mins!
