It is 10 minutes distance from the centre of Parga and it is surrounded by the old Venetian olive grove, which is the main characteristic of Valtos beach and of the city of Parga. Valtos is the most famous beach of Parga and one of the most famous beaches of Epirus. Its here that we decided to build our accommodation, Villa Danae, which we are now going to present you in this site. The accommodation is situated at Valtos, Parga and has a convenient and spacious car park at the disposal of the visitors. It is built in such a way as to provide agreeable and decent holidays far from the pressure and the noise of the town of Parga. It has four two-room apartments, for four or five persons, equipped with: air-condition, small kitchen with oven, cooker hood, fridge cable TV in each apartment large balcony with view to the olive grove, that makes summer nights a unique experience. It has also three studios, for two or three persons, equipped with: Air-condition, small kitchen with oven, cooker hood, fridge cable TV and large balcony with view to the olive grove. The guests have the opportunity to enjoy swimming at the swimming pool, which is situated just a few meters on the left of the accommodation, without being necessary to walk the 334 m (we have measured it!!!) to Valtos beach. Although, in our opinion, swimming in the evening with view to the lit up castle of Parga its worthwhile. A few meters away from the accommodation there is a mini-market and a bar (by the swimming pool). You can prepare your own breakfast or lunch in your room, or you can take advantage of the special offer for those who stay in our accommodation and have breakfast at a very low price at the neighbouring bar (good relations with neighbours are always useful!!!!). You can also rent a car or motorbike at a very low price, provided you let us know in due time, and discover the region of Parga, as well as: * Glyki village, at 1 hour distance from Parga, * the estuaries of the river Acheron, 35 minutes from Parga, * Nekromanteio (Oracle of the Dead), 35 minutes from Parga, * and a great number of beaches, such as Sarakiniko, 14 km from Parga, * Agios Giannakis, 13 km from Parga, * Lichnos, 5 km from Parga, * Karavostasi at Perdika village, 22 km from Parga, * Arila near Karavostasi etc. * It is also worthwhile to visit the old watermills and to go up to the castle which is situated over Anthousa village. The view is magnificent especially at nightfall!! The setting is completed with the bright green garden which is taken care of by Giannis. The accommodation was built in 2003, in the olive grove that surrounds Valtos beach, part of the Venetian olive grove of Parga. It is at 336 m distance (we repeat that we have measured it!!!) from the main area of Valtos beach in Parga (for those who know the place, it is at the centre of the beach, where the boat coming from the harbour of Parga leaves the visitors) and 2,5 km from the centre of Parga. Visitors can reach Villa Danae: by car, from the ring road that goes around Parga in order to avoid traffic when passing through the town of Parga * on foot, when going down the castle of Parga * or by small boat, from the harbour of Parga. Personally, we prefer the small boat. The circumnavigation of the castle of Parga by night is magnificent. In all three cases, you have to turn left at the first crossroads you will meet after the pier of Valtos, where the small boat leaves the visitors. The beauty of the landscape, the crystal clear waters, the infinite coastline and of course the characteristic olive grove led the pioneers of Club M?diterran?e, in 1951, to build one of the first Clubs in the whole world at Valtos. In this way, they combined Parga and Valtos in a unique venture at that time and Parga become known all over the world. In 1979, the Club was transferred from Parga to Corfu, but the region kept attracting many visitors. Furthermore, the know-how acquired by the inhabitants of Parga during those thirty years gave them the opportunity to offer their visitors high quality services, with respect however to the environment and the beauty of the landscape. Lets though take things from the beginning. Valtos is the longest beach of Parga with 3 km length. It is situated near the bay of Parga and at the foot of the cliff on which the castle, that has associated its history with the history of Parga, is built. The clear waters of Valtos, as well as the small distance from Parga attract many bathers. There are three ways to reach Valtos: on foot, after passing the castle; by car, from the ring road of Parga, as well as through the centre of Parga, if you have the nerve to do it as there are a lot of traffic jams especially in the summer; and by small boat, from the harbour of Parga, a beautiful trip especially by night. Valtos beach is covered with sand (60%), as well as pebbles (30%). It is safe because it is surrounded by the bay of the castle of Parga and the bay of Panagia Vlacherna, while the very long coastline enables the natural renewal of the waters without the existence of strong currents. Valtos is an organized beach with outdoor showers and changing-rooms set up by the Municipality of Parga. Finally, at Valtos the visitors can enjoy a large number of water sports.
