The common areas (kitchen and bathroom) are for all guests. Therefore we have set up some house rules that we expect all to respect. When you order you also accept our house rules as described below: The key for the front door is handed out at Lyngby Tourist Information Office, Lyngby Torv 5 within opening hours. The key is handed out personally and directly to the guests that are staying. The keys are never left outside the house. The main door must be kept locked 24/7. At departure the key must be handed in at Lyngby Turist Information Office. We do not take responsibility for any valuables left in the house. Smoking is prohibited. No pets are allowed no matter size. It is not possible to park in the driveway. You will find plenty of free parking areas in the street just outside the house. As a courtesy to other guests, cheese, spices and other food with a strong odeur should be kept in closed plast boxes. You will find plast boxes in the kitchen. The water boiler in the room should only be used for coffee and tea. Preparing hot meals in the rooms are not allowed. Guests are expected to do the dishing and clean the kitchen at each use. This also applies if a single group is occupying all rooms. Personal items should not be left in the common areas. This also applies to towels, soap, cloth etc. Personal items left in the common areas will be removed without notice. The bin is located beneath the sink. Glass, paper and newspaper can not be trashed in the bin. The same applies to pizza boxes. Leave glass, newspaper, pizza boxes and other cartoon in the basket next to the refrigerator. You can book fixed times (15 minutes intervals) at the bath room btw kl 6:00 and 9:00 am. Instructions are found at the board next to the bathroom. The bathroom can off course be applied outside this interval. Storage of personal belongings. All personal belongings must be stored in the room. This applies to shoes, coats, umbrellas, prams, etc. Any item left outside the room will be removed without notice. Kitchen and bathroom are cleaned regularly. The guests are responsible for the daily cleaning. We do expect reasonable silence after 22:00. Please use the slippers in the rooms to reduce noise. Avoid unecessary shouting and stamping in the kitchen. Turn of the radiator when the window is open. Do not leave the room with the heat on and the window open at the same time. Keep the room doors closed during winter. Keep the windows closed during rain. Be aware that rain will poor into the room if the roof windows are open during showers. We preserve the right to enter you room without notice to turn of radiators or close windows.

She sets the house rules and ensures that every thing is in order to serve all guests. She has a Master in Mechanical Engineering and works for Saxo Bank A/S. Hans Enggrob has a Master in Civil Engineering and works for DHI - Water and Environment. Berit and Hans lived one year in Ireland and in Bangladesh for 2 years. Both speak Danish, English and German.

Why we choose the name Chr X. Fist of all due to our address: Christian X's refers to King Chr X (1912-1947) - the grandfather of Queen Margrethe II's. In 1898 he moved to Sorgenfri Castle in Lyngby with prinsess Alexandrine. From 1912 and until his death in 1947 they lived here during the summer. But the first royal presense in Lyngby was in 1668 when King Frederik III's build Frederiksdal Castle. It is however neither King Chr X or King Frederik III, that was reason for the Kongens (Royal) Lyngby. The explanation on this name is the fact that the area around Lyngby during the middle age belonged to Roskilde. Lyngby was an exception. It belonged to the King and supplied the Royal Copenhagen with amongst other food. From this exception the name: Kongens (Royal) Lyngby arouse. The first written confirmation of the Royal ownership is found at King Valdemars time in 1230. Kgs Lyngby remained the property of the crone until 1536.

From Lyngby Station. Leave the S-station towards Ulrikkenborg Plads (in the opposite direction than the bus station!) by leaving through the tunnel. Cross Ulrikkenborg plads (square) and follow Ulrikkenborg Alle (at the left). Follow Ulrikkenborg Alle to the intersection: Chr X's Alle / Ulrikkenborg Alle. Amongst other work, family visits or holidays. Chr X's Bed was closed 2005 - 2006, but was reopened September 2006.
