The Hotel has 101 rooms, 95 of which are junior suites, 5 senior suites and a magnificent Presidential Suite. All rooms have a balcony with panoramic and sea view, air-conditioning, mini-bar, safe deposit box, sofas and coffee table, dressing room with wardrobe and complete bathroom. There are several places you must visit. Among many other, we suggest the Lagoa das Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo, Lagoa do Congro, Vale das Furnas, Parque Terra Nostra, Caldeiras das Furnas, Lagoa das Furnas and the small island of Vila Franca. Beside the islands natural beauty, we also point out the various religious events celebrated by the azorean people with a special reference to the annual Santo Cristo dos Milagres festivities which take place on the fifth Sunday after Easter in Ponta Delgada. The Divino Esprito Santo festivities take place from April to June and are the most traditional in the whole archipelago. The Romeiros, another religious manifestation from the XVIth century, occurs during the Lenten period. For eight days, a group of men devoted to the Virgin Mary wander across the island, praying in all the churches with an altar dedicated to Her. If you want to indulge in gastronomic delicacies, you can taste the traditional recipes, that include the Cozido das Furnas a unique dish with meat and vegetables, cooked by the heat of the volcanic soil. Shellfish, conventual sweets, cheeses, wines, pineapple and tea grown in Gorreana and Porto Formoso are some of the delicious examples that wait for you!

For tennis lovers, we have two private courts where you can practise your technique. You may also choose to burn calories on a bicycle ride around the gardens. S. Miguel has two splendid golf courses - one at Achada das Furnas, with 18 holes (20 minutes from the Hotel) and another one in Batalha, Fenais da Luz, with 27 holes (30 minutes from the Hotel). In our hotel theres a small drugstore for our guests' eventual needs. You can also use our complimentary courtesy bus that will transport you from and to Ponta Delgada.

Miguel island in the Azores archipelago, in a hillside close to Baia dAlto, in Vila Franca do Campo, at about 3 km from this town and only 19 km from the capital, Ponta Delgada. This paradisiacal archipelago is composed by nine islands of volcanic origin. The name Azores comes from the birds of prey, very similar to hawks, that the first inhabitants encountered when they arrived there. Divided into three groups, these islands are located at about 760 nautical miles from Lisbon and about 2100 from New York, occupying a total area of 2.335 km2. Due to its location, some researchers think that theyre the lasting traces of the legendary and mysterious Atlantis. The weather in the archipelago is very mild and has a maritime tone to it. There arent meaningful changes in temperature throughtout the year. It reaches medium values of 13C (55F) in winter and 23C (73F) in summer. The sea temperature is also very stable, going from 17C and 24C. So Miguel is also called Green Island due to its pasture fields and its massive forest sites. Its the biggest and more populous island of the whole archipelago. Its part of the oriental group and its weather is mild, with medium values of 16C in spring, 21C in summer, 18C in autumn and 14C in winter.
