Fewer boats are seen here, compared to more populated areas in the Caribbean, therefore the coral formations are well preserved. Southern Belize is renowned for its invertebrate life, hard and soft corals, seasonal spawning snapper, as well as the migrating whale sharks in April and June... appearing near the full moon phase. The experienced snorkeler can explore more inaccessible sites from the boat, while the majority of our destinations are right off the shore of sandy cayes. Our guide will assist you with gear and technique, if this is your first snorkeling experience. Depending on the timing of food sources...the Macaws will make the village of Redbank and the surrounding mountains and river areas...their home for 2 to 3 months of the year...as they journey on their migratory route through Belize. You will be staying in one of six thatched cabanas, built from local hardwoods, primarily mahogany. The rooms are simply decorated, with local artwork and Guatemalan needlecraft. Each cabana has either a double or queen bed and a second single bed, own private bathroom with hot shower. Rooms are cooled by ceiling fans and the sea breezes. A small patio with protective thatch roof and rocking chairs offers a view of the sea from your own cabana. The 40 x 20 fresh water pool is surrounded by coconut palms and flowering tropical plants.
