After visiting the museum clients continue into the city centre to see the central park, cathedral, palace and the central market. Have a Maya Ritual Performed. A half day tour out to the village of San Andres Itzapa to visit the Maya God Maximon and to have a Maya Ritual performed in your honor. Your guide will accompany you to first purchase all the necessary ingredients for the ritual of your choice (Good Luck, Marriage Blessing, Bad Luck for Enemies etc) and then will explain the workings of the Maximon sanctuary before employing a local Shaman to perform a ceremony. - Clients should be aware that the setting is not picturesque and you can sometimes still see rituals performed with live chickens. LAKE ATITLAN CHICHICASTENANGO. LA1: Day Trip to Lake Atitlan by Land. Guests will transfer approx. 2.5hrs through the Maya highlands to the stunning Lake Atitlan. With its three surrounding volcanoes and small villages where the Maya people still hold strong to their beliefs, rituals and traditional dress. Once at the lake we will transfer guests across the lake by boat to the village of Santiago. Hopefully you will be able to see some Maya Rituals going on in the church or at the cemetery or hilltop altar site. Lunch is included at St Tomas Hotel. When you are ready you will transfer back to Antigua Includes: Private transfers guide, lunch. LA5: Overnight to Lake Atitlan - Land Transfer (2D 1N). Same as LA1 except there is a free afternoon on the arrival day and then guests transfer back to Antigua on the second day after the tour of Santiago. Casa Encantada is Antigua;s newest boutique hotel and exemplifies a small, elegant, understated hotel with the utmost in comfort and personal service. For the convenience of the international traveler, members of the staff are fluent in English, French and Spanish. Located in the historic city of Antigua, Casa Encantada features nine individually decorated guest rooms and a magnificent terrace suite. The breakfast-terrace and bar overlook the flowering gardens and private pool, which are nestled in a courtyard amidst hanging bougainvillea and towering shade trees. Antigua is well known for it;s clear blue skies and through the windows of the suite is a stunning view of Agua, one of the world;s most beautiful volcanoes. Only four blocks away a glimpse of the Cathedral in Central Plaza can be seen over the domed rotundas of Antigua. The suite, adjacent to the terrace, features a wrought iron four-poster bed piled high with down pillows and comforters; the suite also boasts a corner fireplace in the sitting area and an oversized bathroom with both a shower and jacuzzi Each of the king or queen rooms offer conveniences and amenities such as cable television, telephones, signature bathrobes and imported bath amenities.
