Stayed for 2 weeks in July 06 at the 5* Hotel where we found the family room huge, 2 bathrooms, tv, mini-bar (very cheap) very good. 1st time in Bulgaria so was not sure what to expect but found it very clean with a high standard of accomodation and lots of things for the kids to do. Stayed bed and breakfast which was fine and would recommend eating in the Hotel A La Carte restaurant too. The shoots in the pool kept our kids entertained and the entertainment team provided lots of daytime activities such as football, volleyball etc. Tried the spa which was good too. Golden Sands has a good beach with cheap watersports, food maybe isnt as great as Spanish resorts but overall not bad and its about 4 for a bottle of wine with dinner and 1.25 for a pint. This hotel is set back from PARTY STREET so not affected by noise of clubs etc. 2/2 found this review helpful. Have been pleasantly surpised. We were on the second floor whcih I think was definitely a plus as there were a few people on the ground floor who weren't as satisfied as we. Our double room was spacious with a nice balcony and very nice bathroom with powerful shower. We were BB, breakfast being eggs, sausages, fruit, salad, toast and a range of breads, cheeses, meats etc. After a week the choice was a little repetitive but fine to see us through the day. The hotel has 3 pools - 2 outdoor and one indoor and is great for kids. We had a sun lounger and umbrella every day with no problems. The resort is busy with lots of little stalls and shops and restaurants and bars. Party street is to be avoided unless you want to go to clubs and foam parties!! Suprisingly tho, you wouldn't have known that this element of the town existed until you went down there!
