Some excerpts from the website of Baan Orapin that might be useful
Baan Orapin is an ideal combination of the elegance and charm of a bed and breakfast with the privacy of a small hotel. A total of fifteen well-appointed rooms and suites are presented in an unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere. The decor is handsome and natural - a pleasing blend of rattan, teak furnishings and northern Thai handicrafts. All units feature hardwood floors, remote controlled air-conditioning, international cable TV, refrigerator, private bathroom (en suite) with warm/hot shower and in-room electronic safe. The original mansion houses the common areas: the breakfast room, reception / information, and office. The guest rooms and suites are located in three buildings which surround the original mansion. The Front Wing units have more traditional and rustic feels. In order to preserve the rare gigantic Longan trees, the building was specially designed and built around the mature trees. These trees are believed to be as old as the original mansion. As a result, none of the units has the same floor plan. Superior Rooms (34 38 square metres, 360-410 sq. ft.) Rate: Thb 1,500 (US $ 42) 2,200 ($ 61) The superior king room is located on the ground floor. It features a teak, four-poster, king-sized bed, rattan sofa and private patio. The superior twin room is located on the upper floor. It features two four-poster twin beds and small semi-private balcony. Junior Suites (39 44 sq. m., 420-470 sq. ft.) Rate: Thb 2,000 (US $ 56) 2,600 ($ 72) These junior suites feature traditional teakwood, king-sized beds, comfortable sofa, dining table and private patios or balcony. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in these units. This part of the compound has more tranquil atmosphere. The guest units are housed in two buildings. All units enjoy the tropical garden view and most also enjoy the pool view. Superior Rooms (24 26 sq.m., 255-280 sq. ft.) Rate: Thb 1,600 (US $ 44) 2,200 ($ 61) These units are located on the ground floor. Each features a high ceiling, four-poster, queen-sized teak bed, and a private patio entrance. Junior Suites (40 44 sq.m., 430-480 sq. ft.) Rate: Thb 2,200 (US $ 61) 2,900 ($ 81) These are our most popular units. Baan Orapin, built in northern Thai (Lanna) styled architecture, surrounded by tall longan trees, is within easy walking distance of the Night Bazaar, Thapae gate, riverside restaurants along the Ping river, local handicraft shops, and Warorot market. It boasts an inviting residential ambiance that combines an authentic neighborhood vibe with the modern comforts. Baan Orapin is where you will find genuine ambience of a northern Thai home. Baan Orapin, named after our grandmother, consists of the original mansion and three guest residential buildings in a peaceful one-acre plus compound filled with mature trees. The original Baan Orapin, a graceful almost-a-century old colonial-Lanna styled teak wood mansion, was completed in 1914 and has been the family residence ever since. The guest buildings were designed with respect to the Lanna and the original mansion characters: hardwood floors, glazed ceramic floor tiles in bathrooms, clay tiles roof and delicate woodcarvings. Baan Orapin is best for mature, independent-minded travelers. Our objective is to provide an ideal short or long stay alternative for those who look for unique Lanna living experience. Baan Orapin is a five-minute walk to the legendary Riverside Bar Restaurant, art galleries, boutique shops, and many restaurants along Ping River. A five-minute walk across the river via the nearby footbridge takes you to the Warorot Market, the first market in. The famous night bazaar is about 10 to 15-minute walk away. 2003-2007 Baan Orapin 150 Charoenraj Rd., T.Wat Kate, A.Muang Chiang Mai 50000 Thailand All Rights Reserved. Web Hosting and Web Design by
