Frequently Asked Questions. Do you provide beach towels? Yes, we provide beach towels upon request at the Front Desk. Do you have room safes? No, we do not have room safes. We do provide a safety deposit of your valuables, which is available at the Front Desk between the hours of 8:30am and 9:00pm. Do you provide irons in the rooms? Irons and ironing boards are available upon request at the Front Desk. Are hairdryers provided in the rooms? We can supply a hairdryer upon request. How many apartments are there at Southern Surf? There are 14 apartments. Do the apartments have private bathrooms? Yes, the apartments have private bathrooms. Do you have a laundromat? No, we do not have a laundromat, but there is one about two minutes walk from Southern Surf. Do you have phones in the rooms? We do not have phones in the rooms. There is a phone in the hallway on the ground and third floor. We do provide Cellular Phones upon request at the Front Desk. You can make both local and overseas calls by the use of a phone card which costs approximately US$15.00. Do you have house keeping? Yes, we have house keeping daily. Do you have a balcony? Yes, each apartment has a balcony. Are there Televisions in the rooms? Yes, there are Televisions in the rooms. Do you have crib rentals? No, we do not have crib rentals. However, a playpen can be provided, upon request, for a nominal fee. What credit cards do you accept? We accept VISA and MASTERCARD. My husband and I stayed at the Southern Surf Beach Apartments from April 7th to April 10th, 2005 and had a wonderful and very positive experience. This is the place you want to stay if it is your first visit to Barbados. Not only are the rates very reasonable, they’re located just across the street from the nicest beach in Barbados (Accra/Rockley). The Apartments are absolutely fabulous. They’re extremely clean and well maintained. The staff were exceptionally polite and accommodating. Although there are not personal phones in each room, the staff leant us a cell phone for free and even sold us the calling card to use it. There was also a safe available in the room so that we could lock up our valuables. I suffer from health problems with walking and a poor back. The staff set us up in a wonderful room on the main level so that I wouldn’t have to take the stairs. The staff even enquired to see if the mattress was OK for my back and that I was sleeping well. Although there are only 14 Apartments, it’s really enjoyable as the staff provide personalized attention to each and every guest. The buildings are on a busy street (quiets down at night), however, it’s not a heavy traveled highway. Southern Surf is close to everything. Just a short cab ride to Bridgetown. The central location of Southern Surf was perfect for exploring and enjoying Barbados. The best beach of Barbados (Rockley) and a very good restaurant is just across the street.
