Some excerpts from the website of The Lodge that might be useful
At The Lodge we are working towards sustainable tourism in many ways and are always looking for new and innovative ideas. Carbon Offsetting: Travel: We have done the maths and, in addition to our ongoing programme of tree planting, we will also plant a tree for every person who stays at The Lodge in order to off set the carbon footprint created by the air flight. Chose from: Nutmeg, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Allspice, Neem, Frangipani or White Cedar. At The Lodge: Our ongoing programme of tree planting also supplies our
kitchen with fruit and spices. In addition we plant local trees to maintain the ecological balance of flora and fauna, and a variety of shrubs and palms which we will be using for creating bio-fuel. Fruits and Vegetables: All our fresh foods are seasonal, organic and locally grown. We are in process of establishing our own organic fruit and vegetable
gardens. Water: The collection of rain water, from our roof, is filtered via German technology into a 40,000 gallon holding tank. This water is further filtered when pumped, on demand, into the house. It is filtered a third time for drinking and cooking purposes.
Swimming Pool: Our 25 meter
pool is filled with rainwater and the pH balance, cleanliness and
safety of the water are maintained by an electrolytic/saline system. Which means that the water is a mild saline solution (0.3%-0.5%) ensuring that there are no damaging chemicals to harm the environment or you! Waste Water: All our
toilets have a 'half flush' facility to minimise the use of clean water. To maintain this system we ask all our guests to put solid waste materials (such as tampons, etc.) in the bags provided for separate disposal and not flush them down the
toilet. Energy: Hot water at The Lodge is provided by solar energy. The Lodge, P.O. Box 3540, St. George's, Grenada -

Grenada is full of history but where it differs from the other small Caribbean islands is that not only is there 'sun, sea sand' there are also mountains, waterfalls and rainforest. Grenada has all the usual water sports with some of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean. And when you've had enough nature there's the historic Georgian town of St. George's, the Plantation Houses, Forts, some of the oldest rum factories in the world.
