Gardenia Cottage can accommodate 6 people comfortably in three bedrooms. There is a kingsize double room, and 2 sets of twin rooms ( a foldaway camp bed and or travel cot are also available if required for a small additional fee - please ask ). The villa facilities include Cable TV, Hi-Fi, telephone, pay as you go internet connection, coffee maker, microwave, large fridge freezer, and air-conditioning. All linen and towels are provided and a housekeeping service is included at no extra cost. Our friendly housekeeper can also provide a babysitting and cooking service for a small additional fee. The roof terrace with it's pretty sea views is the perfect place during the day to sample Grenada's rum punches watching yachts sail past whilst by night enjoy the cool breezes and spectacular starlit sky's. Grenada has many superb restaurants and bars, and here we have listed a few of our personal favourites on the Island. On Mourne Rouge Beach there is a small beach bar and restaurant called Sur La Mer that has the most fantastic sunsets ( see above ). It is located directly on a very pretty beach where you can spend the afternoon swimming and sunbathing and then watch the sun go down with a Cocktail or Carib during happy hour. The bar food is very good value and we can wholeheartedly recommend the local Roti dishes ( they are really filling ). For those of you wanting a particularly special meal then a good choice is a restaurant called Aquarium at Point Salines. The food here is excellent and whilst somewhat more expensive than our favourite beach bar the ambience and location are superb. They have a popular BBQ on Sundays which is well worth a visit and don't forget your swimming costume. For those of you wishing to head for St Georges the Nutmeg Restaurant is a really good choice for sampling traditional West Indian Style dishes whilst gazing across the harbour ( don't forget to have the Nutmeg Rum Punch ). There is also a great Restaurant called Ocean Bar and Grill located at the far south end of the Carenage. This is a reasonably priced excellent restaurant where our favourite dish is the Tuna Steak in a Cream Chilli Sauce. Many of the restaurants in Grenada have started to offer complimentary pickups for people wishing to dine ( we list these in our welcome pack). Of particular interest though is the La Saggesse restaurant which lies in a spectacular bay and provides not only a good meal but also an interesting day out.

All of the furniture in Gardenia Cottage is handcrafted from cedar by a local craftsmen working to the designs of the renowned Rudolp Herrara. The fully fitted modern kitchen has a huge fridge freezer, range cooker. microwave, matching crockery, utensils and kitchenware. The lounge area is cooled by a large ceiling fan and the gentle breezes that always flow through the airy and spacious living areas. There is a stereo television with cable tv and a Hi-Fi to play any music Cd's you may wish to bring. The bedrooms all have large cathedral style ceilings and are tastefully decorated with matching linens and fabrics.

Carriacou is the largest island in the Grenadines and has white sandy beaches,excellent snorkelling, and superb scuba diving opportunities. From here you can also explore the beautiful Grenadine islands such as Union Island,Palm Island and the Tobago Cays. We describe here our recent visit to Carriacou as an example and we can arrange a similar trip for any guests staying at Gardenia Cottage. We flew to Carriacou in a light aircraft operated by SVGA who have regular flights throughout the day with many destinations up through the Grenadines. This flight is a real adventure not to be missed. You have superb views all the way of both Grenada and the surrounding islands, and some 20 minutes later you are landing at Carriacou's small airstrip. We were picked up by Reg ( the local Taxi driver ) and taken to The Roundhouse in Bogles Village where we were to stay for 2 nights. The views ( left ) are spectacular and its restaurant ( far left ), where the food must surely be amongst the best in Carriacou, has real character. On our second day in Carriacou we arranged with Reg ( yes Taxi driver Reg who also runs the local supermarket ) to sail North through the Grenadines for the day on his very own 41' Sailing Ketch ( left ). This was a fabulous day,giving us the chance to see the Grenadines in all their glory. We reached as far as Tobago Cays where we stopped and we taught our daughter to snorkel for the first time in the crystal clear waters ( see below ). On our third day we took a water Taxi (the preferred method of transport in Carriacou) to Sandy Island and spent a few hours relaxing and snorkelling over the pristine reefs before flying home to Grenada once more at the end of the day
