Palshus Guesthouse Palshus Guesthouse is located in a family residence. We live on the upper floors and the guesthouse is in the lower part of the house. That gives us the possibility of providing the best possible service. The ceilings in the guesthouse are high and the rooms are bright and they face the garden. The rooms are equipped with TV and CD player. They share a kitchen with all essential appliances and cutlery. The bathroom is also shared, with both shower and bath facilities. Our guests can have extra beds in the rooms, whether it be for children or an adult. We also offer sleeping-bag accomodations for backpackers in the summertime. Location Palshus Guesthouse is in Skerjafjordur. This is a small, old and peaceful residential part of the city with many houses made of timber and the quintessential corrugated iron, which is quite a landmark of old Reykjavik. Skerjafjordur is close to Reykjavik airport for domestic flights and in walking distance from the city centre, about 15-20 minutes. From our guesthouse there are many interesting walking destinations, such as Reykjavik City Center, Nautholsvik-geothermally heated beach, The Pearl viewpoint and the old lighthouse at Grotta. There we can enjoy the spectacular view over Reykjavik and its surroundings. We go to Hofoi house where the all-important summit between President Ronald Reagan and Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev took place in 1986. We visit the University area, the old town centre where the Icelandic parliament Alþingi is situated, the town hall and the pond Tjornin, frequently visited by families feeding the birds all year around. Hallgrimskirkja church and the garden where the sculpture Einar Jonsson kept his work, inspired by the Nordic mythology and paganism. We will show you the sports and recreation area in Laugardalur, a geothermal heated outdoor swimming pool and sculptures crafted by Asmundur Sveinsson.
