The town along with its surroundings seems to be an ideal base for touring, doing different activities or for peaceful relaxation. Directly in the town center you might enjoy strolling along the spa promenade and around the parks or sightseeing. We suggest that you explore the meadowland along the Elbe River, with its distinctive flora and fauna. Tour the countryside on foot if you like to take grassy paths or on in-line skates or by bike using the newly built asphalt-surfaced communications. Do not miss a swim in a nearby sandy lake with sandy beaches in summer. If the weather is bad, why not visit Prague using a fast Podebrady - Prague motorway connection - it is a 20 minutes´ drive or an hour´s train a or bus ride. You can also vist a new aquapark (2006) in nearby Kolin. Golfers will be welcome to try one of the most spectacular 18-hole golf courses in the country, including a training course, and to hire a trainer. There are tennis courts, a squash centre, fitness centre, minigolf and skatepark too. If you wish to ride a horse, you will be able to get in touch with the local horse-riding club. The Elbe River and the lakes abound with fish and therefore fishing possibilities are plentiful. The dominating sight is Podebrady Chateau (the seat of King George of Podebrady) accessible from the central square. The town surroundings are also interest - taking a communication upstream the river exclusively intended for cyclists or walkers, you will get to the confluence with the Cidlina and further to a fortified settlement that dates back to 10 century of Slavnik Dynasty. A motor train or a boat named King George will take you to this destination and back. Other places of interest are the Polabske Muzeum and the Ethnographical Museum in nearby Prerov nad Labem. Numerous fancy restaurants as well as cafeterias and fast food shops are within walking distance. A supermarket open 7 days a week is within 50 m of the pension. Both train and bus stations can be reached within 8 minutes on foot unless you want to use the local private taxi service.

Our family run pension is placed near the town centre and the spa park. There is a view of the park out of each room situated at the face of the pension, and there is a view of a garden out of the rooms situated at the another side of the pension. Each room has a private modern sanitary facilities - bathroom with a shower and a toilet, a refrigerator and a TV set with digital SAT. Bedding and towels are certainly at yours disposal. All visitors can use free wireless internet connection via Wifi. We would like to inform you that smoking is not allowed in a whole pension. Check-in between 17 19 o'clock, otherwise you can call for an individual time. We are able to mediate a breakfast in a nearby hotel for 60 CZK. If you want to order it, you have to inform us before your arrival. Another possibility is to go to a nearby backery or delicatessen. During your holiday you can place your bicycles at the pension. Arrival from Prague via motorway D11: Exit motorway at exit 35 (Podebrady-zapad) at square Jiriho nam. (with an equestrian statue in the centre) turn left to Nymburk route no. 329 (pass the Ruzovy slon shopping center) at first crossroad turn right two times (almost about 180) at next crossroad turn left into Studentska street (with a park on the right) the Fontana pension (ocre facade), house no. 300, is the third house on the left. Arrival from Hradec Kralove via route E11: keep along the main road as far as the centre of the town (square Jiriho nam.). Arrival from Nymburk via route no. 331 and 329: at the position of an elementary school (the big building close to the centre) on the left, turn left. You can park your car at the parking lot in front of the Fontana pension or on the street only on the right side according to the description. Attention, parking is banned on the left-hand side (closer to the house)! Access from the railway and bus station. In front of the station cross the road and then go along the spa colonnade up to the corner of the spa park and in front of the hotel GREX turn right and continue along the park right to the first street (Studentska street). Accommodation prices. Prices in CZK VAT included. 01.04.2008 - 31.12.2008. Prices in VAT included. Price per one person for only 1 night is increased by 15 %. A deposit of 25 % has be to paid within 7 days following the booking, otherwise the booking is cancelled. There is no deposit on payment in or if your holiday are shorter than 3 nights. The reduced price applies to children under 10 and adults on an extra bed. No bed for children under 3 free of charge. Spa tax is not included - it is CZK 15 per person per day in 2008. Price per single person in 3-bed room is increased by 15 %. You have to pay the rest of the price on arrival. We do not accept credit cards. Cancellation charge: If you cancel your booking within 8 days before your arrival date, the deposit reduced by CZK 150 per person (as a handling fee) is returned to you. After this date the fee equals the whole deposit.
