San Juan Waterhouse Vacation Rental. Located on the west side of San Juan Island, this beautiful waterfront home was custom built with attention to the creative details. Built on a grassy beach within a stone's throw of the water, it is a very private island home whose secluded, sunny view of the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca is breathtaking in all seasons. The most premier whale watching on the west side of San Juan Island, there is 1,400 feet of coastline bordered by preservation land. Enjoy a front row view of the resident orca whales, who often sleep in the cove. Paradise is a cedar shake bungalow, custom finished with a beautiful stone fireplace to enjoy when ambiance and warmth are the inspiration. The fully-equipped
kitchen includes a professional Viking stove, a great invitation to the serious chef. Views of the Olympic Mountains are wonderful from the main deck in front of the house, and from all
three bedrooms. A king-size bed furnishes the main
bedroom, a queen-size bed surrounded by windows is in the second
bedroom, and the upstairs loft has two twins. Each
bedroom includes bed linens and
pillows.
Two bathrooms are on the main floor, both have a large clawfoot
tub, one includes a tile
shower. Towels are provided, as is a washer and dryer. There's plenty to do with three acres and 1,400 feet of rocky coves and private beaches to explore. Tide
pooling is excellent. Bird watching is superb, with resident Harlequin ducks and the local Bald Eagle Rocky. Bring your binoculars or, pack your favorite beverages, a good book, and a picnic basket and relax on a sandy beach directly in front of the house. Small beach fires are allowed if a fire ban is not in force on the island. This stretch of shoreline has been identified by a whale museum biologist as a feeding area for orcas. Watch whales pass by from the deck as their family groups come within a few yards of shore, hunting salmon.
