rooms in this former laird's house and the season of the year. Originally the Laird's

Breakfast (BB), the three course Table d'Hote menu costs from £34.00 per person. Check-in is between 4.00pm and 6.00pm. If for any reason you find that you are likely to arrive after 6.00pm, please let us know. On the day of departure,
rooms should be vacated by 10.30am. If this is likely to cause difficulty, please let us know. whether via the bridge or the. Mallaig/Armadale ferry. follow the A87 to Portree. From Portree, keep on the A87 North-west out of Portree towards Uig and Dunvegan; after 4 miles, at Borve, fork left onto the A 850 for Dunvegan. Follow this road for about 10 miles and you will pass the village of Edinbane at the head of Loch Greshornish. A mile after Edinbane Greshornish House is signposted to the right, 2½ miles down a single track road. Just keep going - but please watch out for the sheep, especially at lambing time! If you are arriving by. follow the A 87 south towards Portree. After 11 miles, at Borve, turn off right onto the A850 for Dunvegan. Then as above. How long will it take? We are a little over an hour from the Skye Bridge, an hour and twenty minutes from Armadale, twenty minutes from Portree, and forty minutes from Uig. and the problems with sat-navs? Many guests using sat-navs to get here have reported they are sent to Mallaig, regardless of whether the ferry is sailing or not! Unless you intend on 'sailing your car over the sea to Skye' you should programme your sat nav route via the Kyle of Lochalsh. Alternatively, check the. Greshornish House is approximately 3 hours by road from Fort William, 3 hours from Inverness, 5 hours from Glasgow and Stirling, and 6 hours from Edinburgh. Skye Bridge is an hour away, whilst Portree and Dunvegan Castle are only 20 minutes from us in either direction! Yes, mostly, but there are conditions. We welcome dogs by prior arrangement, but ask that they do not get taken into public
rooms, nor should they be left unaccompanied in
rooms. Dog should bring their own beds and towels! A nominal charge of £5 is made. We do have our own dogs, but they are kept out of the public
rooms and areas in the house used by guests. Signal strength in this area of Skye is very patchy, and there are many places in which mobile
phones do not work. There is reception for some networks in the
garden and grounds, but not in the house itself. Is thereBroadband connection? Guests are able to access the
internet dial-up connection in their
rooms, and in addition they can be given access to a Broadband connection in Reception if they have their own laptop. We do not have
Wi-fi.
Breakfast is normally served between 08.30 and 09.30 daily. If
breakfast is required earlier than this, for example to fit in with ferry timings, a continental
breakfast can easily be arranged. Please inform Reception the evening before and before 9.00 p.m.
Coffee and
tea are available throughout the day on request at reception.
Lunch: Soup and sandwiches or a light
lunch are available daily in the Conservatory between 12.30 and 2.00pm. Afternoon
Tea is served in the Conservatory between 4 and 5 pm.
Dinner is served from 7.30 - 8.15pm. Smoking is now illegal in all public places in Scotland. Greshornish House is now totally
non-smoking. Should we find that guests have been smoking in their
bedrooms, we reserve the right to charge an extra night's bed and
breakfast without further notice. This will enable us to carry out the additional cleaning and fumigation necessary to bring the
room back to the standard that other guests have a right to expect. We very much hope that this will not be necessary.
