READ BELOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED! What we need and a little about us! We have described the positions below. Our website explains in detail about the Sweetgrass Bed Breakfast and there is a page also regarding Shipwreck Lees Bar Grill. You will also see exactly where we are located how convenient our location is. We need mature, positive, upbeat, smiley, self-starting individuals or couples that are looking to work for a small business. We have customers who come back year after year and new customers that spend all summer in this area and frequent our nonsmoking grill/bar. Lee and I and our regular employees develop friendships with our repeat customers and maintain a small town atmosphere in our business. Our clientele consists mostly of RV-ers and locals who live nearby. Bed breakfast assistants - POSITION FILLED! As you can see on the website, our rooms are absolutely beautiful and we maintain a 3 diamond rating with AAA. The Sweetgrass attracts a high caliber of guests and we have the nicest people from all over this country and Europe stay here. That makes being an innkeeper the best job ever. Im looking for a part time assistant to help keep the rooms up to their high standards of cleanliness appearance who are flexible on the number of weekly hours. Also need help with breakfast prep/clean-up and laundry. The number of hours depends on how many rooms are full. Cooks POSITIONS FILLEDS Shipwreck Lees is small, 8 tables, 4 bar tops and a bar. We mainly serve grill and deep fat fryer food and encourage the cooks to come up with their own specials or show off their own recipes that arent on our limited menu. Also, may need some prep for breakfast items served to the BB guests. There is no steady pace of work in the restaurant. You could do a few orders in a 30 minute period of time and then a large group can come in. Its very sporadic and definitely no pattern. Before I start a shift myself, I prepared certain things, organized the kitchen that would suit me and had no problem. Cooks are required to keep kitchen up to state health standards, responsible for inventory ordering, keep walk-in cooler freezer clean organized and keep other areas related to the kitchen organized. Each cook would be assigned a specific job in addition to cooking in order for avoid duplicate work. We dont have a lunch crowd but we do have busy dinners. When the restaurant is ready to close down, need help doing the final cleaning. Normal menu items include, but arent limited to, these food items: Lunch-type items: Hand-made burgers with no fillers, stuffed burritos, quesadillas, salads, hot cold sandwiches. Dinner-type items: 10 oz ribeyes, chicken fried steak, ribs, grilled chicken breast, beer-battered Pollock. Potatoes, salad, etc., included. Appetizers: Mozzarella sticks, onion rings, seasoned fries, poppers, spicy wings, chicken tenders. Were looking for small team of 2-3 part time cooks who will work with each other on the hours to be sure all is covered. We do not want to overburden anyone with hours, we want to be sure you have plenty of time to explore this wonderful area of the Black Hills. Wait person POSITION FILLED We are a small restaurant so our bar is also small. Need general waiting type of duties, taking food/drink orders, delivering food/drink, clean up, cashiering, etc. We need someone for lunches who will also do miscellaneous things like rolling silverware, etc. Other Position filled! What would really be helpful to us is if someone also had some handyman or handywoman abilities and could help periodically with maintenance of the property! We dont need much but every now and again we need minor repairs or fixes and in the summer, it is very difficult finding someone. If you can do any of the above plus this, then, hey, that would be awesome. Sweetgrass is open year round but things dont really get started until Memorial Day. If you want to come earlier in May, were flexible. The season starts winding down after Labor Day although September still keeps us busy in the BB. We would like a commitment for the summer and need one person to stay in September. Shipwreck Lees opens mid May for dinners and then by Memorial Day weekend, will be open for lunches. Lunches are from 11:30-2:30 and dinner is from 5:00-8:30, these times may be adjusted depending on the amount of business. Business takes a nose-drive as of Labor Day and that is about the time we think about shutting deep cleaning the restaurant and end the season. We close before the end of the month. We need at 1 person to start mid May and by June have everyone else. We would like a commitment for the summer until restaurant is ready to lock the doors for the winter. We wish to exchange full RV hook-ups (20 30 50 amps) for your labor and depending on the amount of hours you work, would pay the rest in a paycheck. In addition to the hook ups, there is a hot tub on the property. Of course, so is the bar/grill with a little casino area. There are no services or conveniences for children. Although we do get families with kids in the restaurant, we rarely get kids in the BB. Next door to us is a laundry facility, convenience store and gas station. Wireless is nearby. Lee retired from the Merchant Marines and I retired from the federal government. We moved from San Diego about 5 years ago. Lees family is here and as you know, the Black Hills is definitely one of the most beautiful places in this country. We wanted to get out of the big city and because we enjoy people so much, decided to get into this type of business. We love what we do and have had the good fortune to meet such neat people. Our home, bed breakfast and bar/grill is located on 3 acres of land, within walking distance of each other. Interested in joining our family? You can either email us through this contact page or call us at (605) 343-5351. We will ask all prospective employees to email us a pic of their smiling faces by their RV! Also will need to know RVs length. A listing of your experiences and references are appreciated. Well email you a pic of our smiling faces and you can even talk to our employees from last year if you want! Pics of our home and property is on the website.
